The process is similar front and back but the back is far more involved than the front.
The front process is pretty basic:
- Remove the trim piece on the door
- Remove the door handle trim
- Remove the 5 torx screws holding the panel on T30 or 25 IIRC
- Use a pry tool or panel release pliers to undo the 9 pressure clips
- From the bottom pull the door panel forward and then slide it up and out of the window channel
- Remove the wiring harness clip and the door handle pull
- Remove the plastic hole/moisture cover
- Remove the speaker 8MM bolts and disconnect the wiring harness
- Roll the window regulator down until you can see the two plastic clips holding the window to the regulator (helps to have convenience key)
- Use a screwdriver and push the white plastic clips back holding the window to the regulator - back clip first
- Angle the front of the window down and slide the back of the window up and out on the outside of the car
- Reverse ensuring the front of the window is in the channel by looking through the speaker opening (convenience key helps here to ensure all is working before putting it back together again.
Back:
Basically the same process to remove the trim, door panel, speakers, moisture cover, but where it changes is that you need to remove the window seal/channel in the back and the clips that hold the window to the regulator are a push pin type that are very difficult to remove.
- Follow process above for front windows until you roll the regulator down.
- Remove the interior window frame trim that covers the exterior painted colored parts of the door
- From the inside remove the covers for the back piano black trim piece outside the car near the c-pillar and remove the
2 1 Torx screw
s
- From the outside of the car and with the window in, gently pull the whole window seal/channel up and out
- Use a long screw to insert it into the push pin clip that holds the window to the regulator and firmly pull out to remove it with pliers
- Slide the window up and out like the front with the back of the window coming out first
- Reverse but put the window in first and then the seal - this will take some time and finesse to not rip the $400 seal for the window and get everything set correctly.
I have the manual process on my phone somewhere and will post images when I get a chance. This is all from memory so I may have missed a step or two. Buy your replacement windows from eBay…that’s where I grabbed mine for this process to not lose my tint.
EDIT: updated with images but I had to find them again and only have my phone on vacation, so the screenshots aren’t standard sizes.
