    MTM chip

If I understood what I read correctly, the board is what actually has the decrypted part in it. Is that correct? If i desoldered the board and soldered the chip directly to the ecm, would I be able to read it. I've reached out to MTM, they told me they don't have the capability anymore for this chip. What I'm really after is coding out SAI it was removed when I bought the car. I purchased the ko4, injectors and ecm from a member on here.20221024_114108.jpg

You would be better off getting another ECU and starting with a fresh tune. Check out Nefmoto for more DIY info on this.

Add-on chip boards were used to bypass the security of the stock Bosch ME7.5 ECU before tuners had figured out how to access and tune the ECU memory directly. I don't think tuners have continued to use add-on chips with the ME7.5 for a long, long time now that they all know how to crack the stock ECU security. If the original tuner will not support their own product, unlikely that anyone else can or will either. Most likely, the tune data is all encrypted so that no-one else other than original developer can tweak it further or copy/steal their tuning data.
If you now need to make further tuning tweaks, probably best to start with another stock ECU (Used stock ECU are very cheap) or see if your MCM board can be removed to revert the ECU back to stock.

Ahhh I didn't realize it was for that. I figured since I bought them all together and had previously been run together that it would be the best way to go. I have a stock ecmto play with, I just have to sit down and go through all the info on nefmoto. I have smog check coming up and was hoping to code it out before that, but not gonna happen.

If you're in Las Vegas, and smogging the car there... you can have one subsystem 'pending' and still pass smog.

Piece of cake. Read the eeprom with a eeprom reader and compare stock ecu bin to the mtm one to find your maps. Adjust accordingly, correct checksum and call it a day. In order to set SAI to pass you need to set SAI map to 0's across the board. Note I am not sure about legality of this but that's the best way

MSLUB is the map you need to set to all 0's. This will equal a pass result for readiness bit for SAI and no codes. Legality standpoint this is just advice use at your own risk. I am not a lawyer, but this can and most likely is frowned upon hence why I don't do anything emissions related anymore.

For off-road use, I used the stg 1 tuned bin from nefmoto. I pulled up MSLUB and zeroed everything, used me7sum and then flashed to my car and it shows SAI incomplete. Is there something else I need to change?

I double checked the bin before I flashed to make sure it was still all zeros

Run the test for SAI if you have VCDS. Once you run the test it should equal a pass result.

I thought you said you had eeprom desoldered from the board? modified eeprom thats the only way to read it IIRC. I haven't played with that in a while mostly because most can be read via obd port these days.

I was asking if I did desolder it. I don't think I have even tried reading through obd. I'll have to check that and see.

If you read my other thread, I'm thinking I'm going to be starting over again. I have the SAI location, where would the rear o2 be (for a p0420 code) and evap?

give it a shot and try reading it over OBD, I had a chipped 2.7t ecu that had a giac board soldered to it and I was able to read it, It wouldn't let me reflash it was where I figured out that it had a riser board and different eeprom.
