Has anyone raised their redline to 8k rpm?

Has anyone here raised their redline point on their 8V s3 to 8k rpm?

Did you replace anything on valve train?

Thank you, searched and couldn't find any mention of it.

Would think you would need stiffer valve springs at least. I usually hate "that guy" but what are you looking to gain from this? Stock turbo peters out around 6300 I think, bigger turbos around 7k, not sure you would gain anything up at that range.

Yes it's possible and yes you can gain.

However need to point out that you need to build your head for it.

RTMG Performance from Greece can reprofile EA888 Gen 3 Cams to rev to 8,200 RPM they also have DSG DQ250 chromoly dual mass flywheel.

Ideally this setup is for a full engine build on a big turbo set up. That's what I'm going for on my build.

I just love higher revving engines, trying to get a b7 rs4 here too.

You'll love the RS4 then... Buddy just sold his B6 S4. Sounded wonderful. Nothing beats the sound of a high revving V8/10/12 and no turbo car can sound as good. I have a custom exhaust and no mufflers on my R8.. sounds magical!

What do you mean with the stock turbo Peters out at 6300 rpm? are you referring to losing efficiency after that? the RS3 engine makes max power between 5600rpm and 7000 rpm.
8V RS3 [email protected] mph (ran a few 11.7s stock and ran 118+mph several times)
8Y RS3 k&N filter ran [email protected] (ran 11.6 5 times and trapped 120+ several times)
    at 3100ft elevation

You would basically need that new Typhoon, which is probably a Zage version of the G30 or something bigger, to take advantage of 8k.

I hear you on a high revving V8 sounding amazing, a high revving 4cyl, not so much. I had my Boss 302 redline at 8300 and it was fantastic.

Doing a DQ500 swap also? Heard the limit of the 250/381 is somewhere around 600ftlbs with upgraded clutches etc.

Excited to see as well. I currently am fully built bottom and top. Mine revs to 8 but yes you def need to built the head. So far the dq250 is holding up fine. My limiting factor is the EFR7163 turbo. It's pushed to the max right now.

At the moment I had no intentions of doing a transmission swap.
. My DQ250 is capable of holding up the power. I already have upgraded clutch kit and will be getting the RTMG flywheel. I'm still in the process of getting more parts needed for the build. I plan to modify absolutely everything...even the engine bolts I'm switching to titanium bolts. I have 2 goals. First is to get around 800hp mark. And second is to make the engine bay pleasant to look. Still debating if running Syvecs or United motorsport. Goal is to step away as much as possible from the normal USA mainstream brands and use European brands in my opinion Eu brands are superior.
