    2023 A4 45 Premium Plus - Missing features?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Are these features no longer included or should I go RTFM?

My trunk doesn’t open by foot and the cluster doesn’t show any road signs.

I went thought every menu item in MMI and didn’t see anything.

Also, is there a way to disable car WI-FI network from broadcasting?

    Thanks,

Baaed on my reading of the USA 2023 Audi Order Guide, with Premium Plus you should have the hands-free trunk release (ie foot activated) but needed Prestige for the Traffic Sign Recognition.

If you PM me with an email address I can send you the .pdf of the 2023 Audi Order Guide.

Ah, i found the guide. Thank you.

PPlus does seem to include "convinience package" - but now i need to figure out the features included in it.
Traffic sign recognition does seem to be a Prestige thing, but my cluster has "traffic sign recogniztion" and that thing never seems to work in my area.

Also take into consideration that the unavailability of chips which may control some items (like blind spot monitoring) can cause items to be missing from certain accessory packages. Check your build sheet/sticker for credited items.

I don't think either is listed, so i'm just gonna accept they aren't included.

Traffic sign recognition has been a Prestige feature the entire B9 run.

The order guide appears to have never called out the rear lid kick release function as a feature. Maybe it's just considered basic equipment for the US. You could look inside the rear bumper cover just inside of the left exhaust and see if the control module is there. Or see if the J938 shows up as a LIN slave for the J393 (address 46).

Here is that section from a scan of a 2023 A5 sportback in the Ross-Tech forums:

So did it come from the dealership that way? Is this the exhibit of "yeah, we don't have the parts". Are they going to fix it? Etc. What did your dealership say when you asked about the kick not working?

This is actually funny. Gotta be a trend with "pandemic" cars.
I haven't brought it up to them yet. It wasn't on my mind until recently. Until i joined this forum to be exact, i wouldn't even know about it :)

I am dropping off my 23 a4 allroad prestige tomorrow at the dealership to diagnose the kick to open feature. I am sure it was never installed and nothing was mentioned, or credit noted. I'll add to your thread if I have time tomorrow afternoon.

I haven't been able to figure out the kick sensor either on my '23 A4. I just figured it wasn't a feature, unless I'm not putting my foot in the correct area.

For the traffic sign function, I was hoping it could be enabled with ODB11. It sounds like it uses the camera behind the rear-view mirror and requires the Navigation package, so perhaps it could be enabled on a P+ with them. Hopefully somebody can figure it out.

Mirror based front facing camera is absolutely needed for traffic sign recognition - it's relatively obvious - a trapezoidal like opening in the mirror stem portion that sticks to the glass in addition to a small round circle which is the rain sensor.

Kick activated truck release - look behind the rear bumper diffuser and see if you can see/feel a sensor or wires - stand about 18" behind the bumper and do a slow kick movement underneath it. For me, it has to be slower than one would expect movement as the sensor doesn't get triggered by fast movements.

Advanced key needs to be with you and fob battery must be in good condition. Also in the MMI, make sure the trunk lid handle is not in disabled mode.

I was under the impression both power tailgate and kick open are standard on the A4 and A5, but I might be mistaken and it only may be on the latter.

I remember some of the threads saying you have to kick and them move towards the trunk. I guess maybe it's trying to prevent random opening such as by a small animal.

A small animal is not going to accidentally open the trunk unless it's got your key fob in its pocket!
