    P00AF00 Boost Control A Module

    Hey all,

Over the last 10k miles my EPC light has popped on and car went into a kind of limp mode while driving. There is no rhyme or reason to why it happens as its happened under full throttle, its happened while cruising on the highway stead, and its happened around town.

My mechanic, while doing other things, did a test on the wastegate and said that he couldn't get the test to run... I think my WG is fried. Thoughts?

On OBDeleven it shows a P00AF00 code which reads "supercharger/turbocharger Boost Control A Module".

Anyone else on here replace a waste gate or get the same code and find a solution?

Turbo and motor are only 20k miles old, stage 1 APR tune.

I dealt with this today. At first I found the pin that connects the wastegate actuator with the flap seized. It was quite a journey to get the turbo out of the car and loosen it. I installed the turbo back and couldn't adjust the actuator. It was getting to 3.12V. The range is 3.5-3.9V. Today I removed the turbo again and did the bench test. Still couldn't get it in the right voltage. The actuator arm feels loose. I opened it and what you know the arm is not connected to the gear and the wheel. I have to get a new actuator now.

I was told I didnt have any voltage or at least thats my interpretation because the mech couldn't even get the test to run, but I think Ill order a new Wastegate setup and then have it installed and test the old one for the proper resistance before we install everything just to make sure.

    Was yours intermittent?

On mine I checked old scans and back in December I had recorded Actuator stuck. My daughter's been driving the car with bad turbo for few months until EPC light started coming out and I noticed the issue. It looks like the stuck actuator pin damaged the actuator itself. I see that Audi and VW are selling actuator motors independently but I doubt that will fix my issue. Best bet is to get new actuator assembly. It's interesting that you are not seeing voltage. When I did the bench test today the voltage was showing and disappearing. I thought it's a bad voltmeter connection but it could have been bad module.
