    B9 SQ5 Tuning Options for Dyno/Custom Tune

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
With the huge amount of support being made to the aftermarket support for the B9/9.5 SQ5, is there a company that offers custom/dyno tuning?

APR, Unitronic, IE, 034, etc. all offer off the shelf tunes, but just wondering if anyone offers dyno/custom tuning.

For instance with the MQB platform of the A3/S3/Golf R/GTI, the eurodyne maestro and cobb accessport would allow for custom/dyno tunes.

    Just curious.

The JB4 from BurgerTuning allows for custom tunes.

JB4 is a piggyback though... but I guess it is true. it does allow custom tuning.

jb4 is not a "tuner" its adding boost. you need the fueling/timing/egt calibration that only an ecu tune provides.

I wish we did have a good end user tuning suite for this platform, though I suspect certain large tuning companies may be against providing that solution. I bet HP Tuners would work as an interface, but would need someone willing to map the factory ecu code. Makes me long for the old ecutek open source days..

That's semantics. Their maps are "tunes". They just aren't "flash tunes".

But they have customizable maps to accommodate bolt-on hardware, different octanes/ethanol and even meth injection.

That being said, piggyback vs ecu, they have their positives and negatives. I tend to stick with JB4s until I'm out of warranty than I switch to flash tunes.

Yeah... Nowdays everything is so locked down and difficult.

Like the new Mustang has the same server side encryption thing like VW does now with the whole SFD encryption on the Golf R/GTI. But I guess the Mustang is popular enough that someone will break the encryption.
