hey, gang thought about selling my a6 2013 3.0T sedan and buying a coupe s5 as no need for extra weight plus extra 2 doors. Would love to buy an rs3 pocket rocket but don't have the funds your thoughts? Thanks

Rs3 is tiny, cramped spaces all around. If you're not short you'll not enjoy this fact. S5 on the other hand has plenty of legroom, it's a fun car to drive (a friend of mine has one). It feels different than a 6 series, so don't expect the same feel. Personally I feel a good bit of this is due to the 5 weighing significantly less....of course there are other differences that come into play as to why it feels different. My suggestion is for you to go drive and S5 before deciding.

I would get a B9 S5 before an RS3. B9's have incredible tuning potential, and you'll get the sportback look with the S5

Buy a basic A5... slap on a Ward Performance tune and a BW EFR turbo. You'll come away with the same power levels, better mileage and an all around beast to drive! Only thing you miss is the sound! That's the reason I got my S6.

I have a 13 A5 (2.0t) with a BW 6758 on it sending 390+ to the wheels. My buddy with a 13 S4 (3.0t Stage 2) beats me off the line but I reel him in and take him by the end. It also beats my 14 S6 (4.0t Stock).

And I still get 30+mpg if I'm easy on the fun pedal.

All the other stuff (tech, trim...) can be added at a fraction of the price. The major difference is how they drive. The bigger S6 smoother & sedate while the A5 (10in shorter) seems twitchy & urgent. Both a hell of a lot of fun to drive though!

    Something to consider!

    Cheers,

B9 was a bit bland for me. I have driven quite a few B9 S4's and a B9 RS5. They're great cars for dailys but as performance cars they lack soul and feeling. B8.5 with some light mods would be my choice, and you can get a stick if thats what you want.

I agree. I rented a B9 on a trip and although a nice car with lots of tech, the cockpit placements left me wanting compared to my B8 and the ride was very disconnected.

Put down any thought I had of buying one. To each their own... the B9 wasn't mine though! Drive one for a few thousand miles before you buy if you can!!! Audi Silvercar is great for that!!

I'm thinking of putting my B8.5 Big Turbo 6MT up for sale here soon. Could be your cup of tea.

    Cheers,
