Does anyone know of a good grounding point or two under the hood of the s6? Ideally closer to the firewall.

    Thanks!

What are you intending to ground ...? (if I may ask?)

The front ground bolt can be utilized ... I believe, just loosen ... or are you intending to put under the plastic screened area ...?

Thanks for the response.. they are to support new matrix headlights

Ideally I'd like to have it closer to the firewall as I'll be tapping the fusebox for 12v power

I grounded to a point near the fusebox where you're already going.

Exactly. There’s always a ground near every fuse box location in these cars.

Got the install pack from Alex and was wondering if you could help given your experience with this.. Did you happen to use this spot just above the fusebox? Not sure if the grounding point can be shared with another connection.

Also, any recommendations on how to get the pink fuse holder off?

Yep, that's exactly where I grounded. The pink cover just pulls off, I left it off after adding the fuse.

Happy more are getting onto the Matrix experience!

    No problem.

You're already in there but here are some other minor tips.

Find a location you can mark your beam height. Mark your distance from the wall so you can get back to it to match it.
Pull the washer tank out on the street or another place the fluid can dump from the reservoir.
You don't need to fully disconnect the bumper electronics if you don't want to, disconnect the battery or keep the keys away from the car so it doesn't initialize.
Tie down the harness from the passenger side to driver side, there are fans you don't want the harness slipping down and getting shredded.
Don't forget the drain tube reconnect.
Grease the module seals if you pulled them off in any way.
When putting it back together, don't tighten down all the headlight mounts until after you get the bumper back in position, helps with hood gap.

Excellent - thanks! Already pulled the washer tank and it emptied in the garage.. not much in there thankfully!

Appreciate all of the tips! There is a significant amount of excess wiring between the fuse and the ground.. did you put that in the fuse box or just leave it out?

I coiled the slack up below the cowling, entry into the fuse compartment was following the rubber grommet on the side closer to center of car. Haven’t had any issues and I’m in wet Seattle.
