Will this, the Superduper, and the open airbox be out in a package deal when released?

So I already have the X34 intake. Do I wait for the SuperDuper inlet? Or do I get this (and if I get this do I need the adapter ring)?

I’d like to get this for my GF’s S5. I’ve heard horror stories about getting to the lower bolt and removing the PVC and vacuum line. Any tips or tricks on doing this install? I read the instructions and there’s not much detail.

This will mate directly with the X34 intake. You do not need any adapter ring if you are sticking with the factory turbo.

I'd say a good set of extended torx and maybe a wobble extension will be your friend. Luckily, you can get that lower bolt started with the turbo inlet off as the bottom hole is slotted on our inlet. The PCV lines will need convincing.

I am eventually going with a CAI and turbo inlet pipe but both at once. As a first mod is it worth doing the turbo inlet before the CAI or is it a pointless mod on it's own? If i do the inlet first i have a K&N filter i will replace the stock filter with.

    Thanks for any feedback!

Do you have an adapter for the TTE710? Just ordered the inlet tube but only saw an adapter for the Pure750. Starting to collect parts...

Edit: Nevermind. Looks like the Pure750 can be used for the TTE710. Is it a direct fit or just kinda good enough? Will a specific TTE710 eventually be released? Not looking to go to the TTE710 until spring so, I'm fine with waiting.

I installed my recently received intake pipe last night and I'm very impressed with the results and noticeable gains...great mod!!

Question for 034...Can I buy the rubber / silicone tube which attaches the pipe to the air intake as a stand alone item?

Removal of the lower bolt on the inlet can be challenging. It requires patience and the right tooling...and e few cuss words also was helpful:) Install goes much more smoothly.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to use the appropriate language so it moves smoothly. May require a midday IPA.

I’ve collected a lot of tools so I’ll cross my fingers I’m all set. My trans mount insert came today also so that will get knocked out as well.

With the correct set of tools, any install can be a breeze. Use it as an excuse to the S/O to get some more goodies ;)

You'll be so happy with those two upgrades, and thanks for the support!

You'll need a micro ratchet to get at the lower bolt on the turbo inlet.

All installed! I only lost two bits, one torx and one Allen lol! Luckily I have an assortment of extending magnets or it would’ve been worse. I used a micro ratchet, short Allen wrench and needle nose pliers. It probably took me 1-1:30. The slot on the new piece makes it soooooo much easier! The trans mount will have to wait for another day. I can’t wait to get some 0-60 times when this cooler weather hits.

Also noticed my coolant was a little low! Glad I had to get under the hood. I have a long trip tomorrow with about a 35 degree temperature drop and it was about 1” below minimum after cooling. Leveled it off and we’re all set.

    Merry Christmas!

I just did it multiple multiple times. Watched many YouTube videos but none really worked for me. One is easy, one is sorta hard. There are two connections on the turbo inlet - both PCV related - see this link p. 20 and p. 22 for what they actually do.

To remove the large PCV hose (that connects to the front of the turbo inlet) first remove the other side of the hose from on top of the engine by the oil separator - it's a finicky rimmed connector that you squeeze from either size on the knurled parts - should pop right off. This will allow you to rotate the large PCV connector on the turbo inlet CCW 90 deg - pull and it should pop right off. Install is the opposite. Very easy.

To remove the small PCV hose (that connects to the bottom of the turbo inlet), first remove the air intake hose and from the turbo inlet and air intake scoop that runs over the radiator to provide space. Next remove the turbo inlet from the turbo (thankfully the two mounting screws are captured!) and let the turbo inlet float as it will still be connected to the small PCV hose. Reach down with your two hands around the turbo inlet and squeeze the connector rim on the small PCV hose with your middle fingers (it's the same style connector as the large PCV hose connection near the oil separator). It's stiff - I got it easily the first time but other times I couldn't get it by hand, and I used a small pair of channel locks to squeeze the connector. It's tight and hard to get light in there. Also, be careful not to break the connector - replacing that hose would be a monumental PITA. Once you're squeezing simultaneously pull the turbo inlet up to pop it off. To install, align the turbo inlet with the connector (it's a stiff hose and should stay engaged) and then pop the turbo inlet down to seat the connector. Lastly, remount the turbo inlet.

Use a flat head and pull hard with other hand. I couldn’t just pull it off and then per instructions used the flathead and pulled straight off. The vacuum hose was easy enough with just hands.

If you have the proper tools and patience, the bottom bolt won’t be too bad. If I did it again, I’d drape something under the inlet to catch all the tools I drop lol. Takes about an hour or so to install. Have an extra torx bit incase one gets dropped, which is very likely to happen.

Thanks much appreciated. I’ve watched the videos too, but I’m always interested to see how successful others are when trying the different methods.
