    New MY24 (?) RS3 Facelift Spied

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
While I wait for my allocation, it's slightly annoying that the facelifted RS3 is already spotted on streets getting tested for what I assume to be MY24 or MY25 production.

    https://www.carscoops.com/2022/10/fa...ke-a-baby-rs7/

Does anyone else now want to consider waiting another year + for the facelift? I feel by the time my RS3 gets produced the facelift will be announced and this will immediately be dated by old tech, etc.

I'm happy with my MY22 RS3. I doubt that an updated MY24 will impact value considering that 8V remains desirable despite 8Y advances.

I hope that Audi will advance the 5 cylinder with an ultra sporty RS3 before switching to hybrid or full EV.

Same. With the R8 GT announced and that car being sent off to pasture, along with the TT RS being gone, I see no real reason to hinder their final years of the 5-cylinder (assuming it's on borrowed time) just to save face for their "higher" RS models. I'd say they should pump them up to about 420-430bhp at least using mechanical improvements and not just a software tweak.

That doesn't look like any big changes. Really just seems like they moved the front badge up, and that's about it.

It’d be interesting to see if they did anything different with the rear bumper.

Meh looks pretty close to what we have now - even if you were super motivated by the changes you could just upgrade the grill and such. I love my 2022 no reason to wait it's freakin awesome.

Please, please remove those fake vents from the rear bumper. This may finally seal the deal for me to place an order for one if those a$$ warts are gone!

This makes little sense to me. Facelifts usually come after 3 years, so no early than 2025 right? I mean even the 2022 run was small and late. As far as engine/power improvements, I don't see that happening on a facelift - they marketed the 2022 as an "all new RS3". I guess time will tell.

Maybe this is just an A3 facelift that they're using an RS3 to experiment on? Time will tell.

I’m not buying that this is a 2024 model. No way.

It did come out in 2021 for the EU market so the 3 year timeline makes sense there for 2024. Maybe another year delay for the US market but I’m not sure if that’s how it works out for facelifts. I know there’s usually a year delay for new releases.

Europe always has a 1-2 year lead when it comes to new models and updates being released. Also, who knows if this is a true facelift or if its an RS3 "competition" trim/package. Don't draw any conclusions until you see an actual statement or press release from Audi USA lol

These pics could even be a few years old when they were developing the 8Y RS3. The car really doesn't look any different than the current model.

It's funny - the auto press blurbs describe the changes as significant and a "baby rs6". LOL.

The front end of the 8Y S3 looks so much better with the body color around the grill. Unfortunately, Audi chose to get a bit more unique with the RS trim.

    Also of relative interest :

Audi just announced a limited edition (300) RS 3 Performance (Sportback and Sedan) for EU only apparently - up about 7 hp , different exhaust, Ceramic brakes, TCU and various Carbon Fiber doo-dads and seats - Mag shocks -

Faster: top speed set at 300 km/h (186 mph)-

Stronger: five-cylinder turbo engine with 299 kW (407 PS) of power-

Sportier: bucket seats, ceramic brakes, and adaptive chassis as standard-

Special: limited edition of 300 units with exclusive features

The RS 3 performance edition, the sportiest compact model from Audi Sport, is fast and a true street artist. Developed for maximum performance, the special edition boasts 299 kW (407 PS) of power and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). In addition to well-known top technologies like the RS torque splitter and ceramic brakes, it has RS bucket seats for optimized lateral support and a whole host of exclusive design elements.

Audisport is Audi's "Gloss Black Plastic Division" (Glänzend schwarze Kunststoffabteilung in German). One team works on engines, the other on hideous plastic bits.

Looks like the same seats as the ones used in the new RSQ3 as well. Great looking seats!

I don't know why they're nickel and diming this RS trim on the 3. Anything RS should be able to be optioned accordingly with all of the fancy bits and pieces without having to get "special editions". It's one thing if they're trying to be BMW with the Competition versions, but there is usually a significant performance gain when BMW creates a Competition or CS model. 407hp? The area under the curve has yet to be seen, but really Audi? Was the "R&D" worth the power gain? I guess in Europe, 407hp is somewhat of a gain because they're at 394hp, but we all know any Stage 1 or "Plus" map on an aftermarket ECU is going to get you a good 40-50whp gain. The best thing about this model is the wheels. Those wheels are AWESOME. I would gladly pay extra for that option in the US.

Any update on this so called facelift.
My allocation build is set for later November 2023. Should I push it forward for a face lifted model if that ever is planned ?

Sounds like South Africa...not sure if anyone knows much about Audi South Africa timelines.
IMO, if Europe, then likely I would push it out because they will get the facelift first. ROW, personal decision on how soon you want your allocation.
