Depending on what aspects you're not liking I can recommend a setup that would work better, or confirm if the JHM setup would be any better/worse in those aspects, as I currently have both setups on my 2 B8s. They definitely do certain things differently, and I have no problem giving you an unbiased opinion, even if it steers you away from one of my products.
For some reason I never got notifications of replies so missed these.
As for the setup, it's not bad. The main issue I had was with 3rd having a hook to it. After adjusting it the 3rd time I was able to correct it, 4th isn't perfect but it's been close enough that I've driven it as is for over a year.
The reason I compare to an s2k shifter is because that one is simply sublime, even stock. It's smooth, short, can be done with finger and had a bolt action like feel. My JXB setup improved a few areas over stock, but certainly doesn't feel like my old s2k. But I don't have the luxury of feeling what a solid linkage upgrade feels like without spending the money, so was hoping to get some comments on here. I might try just a short shifter upgrade first and go from there, but I don't know how much "better" it would be over what I have now, and that money could be used for other things if I'm not going to get enough from doing it.
Thanks for reaching out though, appreciate that. The plate install went perfect, even if I probably didn't need it. But the short shift adapter was tough to get lined up, and even still, likely isn't perfect.
