Project B5 what's your experience?

I made a purchase 2 weeks ago and other then the automated purchase confirmation email I haven't heard anything from him. I emailed him and sent a message on Instagram. Has any one purchased from him recently? I'm about to do a charge back as it looks like I'm not getting the stuff I ordered.

Unfortunately it seems to be hit or miss. PB5 is a small shop (owner Nick + one other dude, I think?) and gets backed up pretty often. I've placed multiple orders for small, pre-made stuff (injector hats, stud conversion kit, etc) and had them delivered within a week. But I'm also waiting on a STK that I ordered in MAR2022 and was told lead time was 2-3 months (we're at 7 now). Communication has also been a little spotty with some emails being responded to in a few minutes and others taking a week (or no response at all).

Nick seems like a good dude and does quality work but if I could go back in time knowing that I would have to wait this long, I would have purchased elsewhere.

Ok I just ordered the fsi conversion kit and a set of trans mounts. So hopefully I'll get some word soon.

Ordered some small stuff from Nick. Got it fast, no issues.

Running the 450/85 fuel pump kit for a year now, no issues. Recaro brackets as well, fair price. It's a good source for some key B5 items if you're on a budget.

The PB5 fuel pump hat that came with my PB5 fuel pump kit shorted the wires and the lid itself melted soon after being installed. So that was incredibly dangerous.

I do have pic but not handy. The short occurred at the bulkhead connector. The hat they included was just lightweight 3d printed plastic, junk frankly.. perhaps there was a flaw in the mold that allowed an arc. Calls/emails for assistance were not returned.

I haven’t since sometime in 2020 or 2021 IIRC, but I’ve ordered 3 or 4 times through him, once for 330mm 17Z rotors, once for some random other 17z bits, another time for some Porsche Decals….yup, for my 17z, because I’m an idiot. I also hit him up years ago to simply inquire if he had any 52mm precut vents for a gauge. He did not but went out of his way to use his college machine shop to cut one out precisely for me and I think wanted like $40 shipped for it, and it was cut so perfectly.

Of the 4 or 5 interactions I’ve had with him, he’s been awesome everytime. So I’d give him the benefit of the doubt, as someone who runs a small business with no employees myself, he could just be tied up at the moment, I highly doubt he’s up to anything nefarious.

Nick has always been easy to deal with for me over the 3 or 4 purchases I’ve done. He’s even picked up the slack when other vendors simply bs’d me and dropped the ball. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again in the future.

I've ordered several parts from Nick. Takes time but quality is good. Most of the parts I have ordered from other vendors have been taking way more time than expected so I think that's just what you get with this platform. Sometimes the parts might not be on the shelf ready to go out the door and there aren't teams of shippers like there is at ECS, FCP, etc.

How about PB5s tuning? I just picked up an 03 ES6 and am considering asking them to preform the ecu/TCU tuning. Is anyone running their software

Nick at PB5 is awesome. Always a pleasure to do business with. I've had plenty of purchases made no problem and hes also good at communicating / answering questions.
