Reference to audi mechanic in socal???

My car isn't under warranty does anyone know of a legit mechanic ? I know there'd pacific German auto but assume they are pricey. I have obd 11 but question it bcuz my battery is low voltage so could throw off alot of codes

OC I go to OC tuning/ Auto Union Tuning and they have two spots, one in Placentia. If you can get Dave on the car he is talented, otherwise pretty standard techs.

If you're willing to drive, German Autotech in Pomona is good, the main mechanic owner, John, was a former NASA engineer. smart guy can figure out anything.

My goto shop is EMD Auto. They have the some of the best customer service couple with some of the best prices. Definitely give them a call and avoid Pacific German at all costs unless you feel like being overcharged and treated like an a**hole.

It's not the miles I'm worried about, it's the damage that's already been done to the car and I don't need a buddy with AAA bcuz I have it myself. The thing is I'm stuck between thinking I can fix this myself or do I have someone else fix it and hope that they don't throw in more bs to add to the bill. L

OK yesterday I was having all sorts of issues. Ima try and make this short but hard wen u sorta have to be detailed. So i had my hood propped open with my car jack (hydraulic went out) and it ended up slipping and cut one of the hoses that goes into the engine. I didn't think anything of it cuz car wasn't on. Well wen I started driving it, white smoke was coming from engine area and my best guess/scent was coolant. So thankfully I was in parking lot with auto mechanics shops.the hose line that was ğ was so small maybe 2 or 3 in long keep in mind. So I take it to one of the mechanic shops and he tried telling me $140 and I was going back and forth wether to pay that or do it myself (my 3rd audi and plus I tend to do most the work myself. So the auto place ended up just giving me the hose I needed and switched it out myself (free except new hose clamps I had to buy) so that fixed and the light went off. Well I went to go wash car later that day and just before I got to car wash I noticed car smoking so I let it air out and proceeded to car wash. Once I got there more smoke Was coming out so I popped the hood and right about the turbo was flames. I ended up spraying water on it to stop flames. Anyone know what this could have been from? I haven't been driving much bcuz sleep and work so couldn't really tell u how it's Ran except to work and it felt normal maybe feels like the car is hotter atleast from the inside.

oh shite!?!, ethanol everywhere...
we be puff'n white smoke...
mechanic wants to super overcharge you (that's messed up man)...
fuuuck him...
you want to pull out.... your super mech tools to fix that damn light...
using the free replacement hose that a-hole mech gave you...
and he didn't give you no damn free hose clamps as well... (again he is an a-hole!!)
went to wash that red stallion hotness...
saw smoke...
hmmm? washed car...
oh dang i pooped my hoods...
turbo flames be happening bro....
went to get change and insert coins and select wax, no was it the wash selection? (ehh)...
"it's Ran" good so far, but red hotness is hotter in the inside and less on the outside?

A lot of us started off this stupid at some point, so I'm not here to throw stones. I looks like he's doing a lot of trial and error without taking enough time/care to learn first and prevent these self-inflicted wounds. Here's a sampling of his posts for context:


I admit that the escalation between "Most horsepower" to "Engine bay FIRE!!!!!????" is objectively hilarious, but you can see the progression he is making. I'd hope he is being more careful and that he keeps coming back here for help. I lurked here for a long time before actually joining and found a lot of help here so I'd hope the community shows him a bit of grace as he's figuring it out. That's if his car is still alive.

Weird I thought the redstalliona3 was my audiworld username and reda3stallion was this one but good question maybe I lost access to the email that was associated with one of those usernames idk but doesn't really matter. What does matter is the mechanic I went to tried to say $2000 to fix my thermostat issue/ p2861 fault code
