Pretty sure those are manufactured the same as the flag design wheels, which are forged. It's hard to find details on them though (in english anyway) as they were only offered in Europe.

I believe they're forged as well. Those are also the wheels that came on my 2019 RS5 Panther Edition. They're not easy wheels to find.... unfortunately, I need to replace 3 of them from a recent accident I was involved in.

My understanding is that they are flow forged, not fully forged. They are simply too heavy to be a fully forged wheel. A 20x9 fully forged wheel should come in at less than less than 22 lbs (at most). These wheels weigh in the vicinity of 28 lbs.

My flag wheels are forged and weigh either 26 or 28 (don't remember which). Some high performance forged wheels do weigh less, but not all do. I looked at some that weighed less, but their weight rating was more suitable for the track than the street.

They are forged not flow formed/forged.

Ok. Quite heavy then for forged wheels in this size.

Not that unusual. BMW F90 M5 20 inch forged wheels are 29 lbs and AMG E63s 20 inch forged wheels are 28/29 lbs (front/rear) - examples of OEM forged wheel weight...aftermarket forged seem to really target weight reduction over strength.

Flow formed. There is no "forging" involved in the process at all, not even partial. It's nothing but word play from the marketing departments to fool people. Flow forming is done at insignificant pressures, compared to real forging. It is superior to castings, but it only applies to the barrel anyway, the entire center section is still cast.

I can only judge form my past experience with other 4 other sets of aftermarket forged wheels that I have owned. All significantly lighter. And seemingly no issue with strength. I am going to use my OEM wheels for winter duty anyway and get lighter aftermarket next spring.

Necro bump, but these are 100% forged wheels. Otto Fuchs is the manufacturer for Audi. You can find this wheel and a description on their website:

    https://www.fuchsfelge.com/de/raeder...7306f4195650ab

All of the higher tier models (A6, A7, A8) and RS cars get forged rim options. The RS cars get forged by default because forged wheels are high strength while being lightweight.

Not quite...the RS5 comes standard with the EVO Design wheels (depending on market) and they are not forged.
