    TCU Tunes for 18’ S7

Which of the available tunes are most optimized to be “all around” best tcu tune?

I’ve read a lot of posts claiming that TCU tune will minimize jerkiness of DSG transmission - is that complete bs or stands true?

100% true for me and most people. Unless something else is wrong with ur trans.

For tcu tune I have boosted euro. dont recommend them, they went out of business and went ghost anyways. But for you I would just try to stick to the same company that does your eco tune. Any respectable Ecu tuner will offer a tcu tune as well because the trans is not smooth at all when you add a tune but dont adjust the tcu

Give TVS engineering a try, I did and most of the jerkiness is gone compared to my previous SRM tune.

TCU tunes mostly increase clamping pressure of the clutch plates and optimize shift points based on the ECU tune by the same company. I'd definitely use the TCU tune from the same company you purchased your ECU tune from..

As for jerkiness, I had the issue before and after I applied my TCU tune. It's important to run the adaptation after the tune.. it generally gets rid of the sloppiness if done right.

Almost forgot, dont forget to do a tcu adaptation.

you can do it now too and it'll help the drivability. You can also do it again after the tune to get the tcu calibrated to the adjustments from the tune.

I’ve had two S4‘s with the DSG I tuned both and went with the TCU and the ECU from Unitronics they were great But with the S6 I used I E and so far so good it’s really nice smooth but if you do an ECU tune and don’t do the TCU you’ll have problems. I had that for six months on my first S4 and it was awful until I went ahead and purchased the TCU so like everyone saying on the site use the same company and they turn it appropriately for the devices.

There is pretty much consensus on AZ that Stage 1 "off the shelf" ECU tunes from all the vendors perform about the same. The same seems to be true for the TCU tunes. I don't recall anyone writing about easily measured objective standards to compare various TCU tunes. Some folk suggest getting ECU and TCU from same vendor (which seems logical) but others claim to use different vendors without problems. There is consensus that if the car has an ECU tune, especially higher stages, a TCU tune is highly recommended to adjust for the higher power output from the engine.

To put things into my personal context - I am leaning towards DS1 ECU tune, hence do I have a choice aside from SRM?

That's the point that it's not mandatory to get ECU and TCU from the same vendor. Folk who use DynoSpectrum must obtain a TCU tune from someone else. My memory is that DS1 folk have used various TCU tunes without difficulty. In another thread the DynoSpectrum folk suggested getting on their FaceBook page and asking DS1 owners.

I flashed the DS1 ECU tune on my C7.5 2016 S6. It was completely drivable on the stock trans code but I came back and did the TCU flash a month later. At the time, Dyno Spectrum did not have a TCU tune so I did the SRM tune and then ran the gamut of transmission adaptations. I ran a couple extras adapts like the kiss point. The adaptations were key, they are an important part of the process. I think Dyno Spectrum has a new TCU product now. But DS1 and SRM work great together. I’m on Stage 1 Map #1 (93RON).

Not listed on their website. And their T-shirts are out of stock. In another thread a while back John at Dyno Spectrum wrote that he had no interest in developing a TCU product; maybe that's changed.
