i too have always been on the lookout for something to replace the 2015 s3 headlights.

    a few concerns.
    1. needs to be pnp. no cutting or anything i cant reverse at least.
    2. coding or what not needs to be available to do at home
    3. it needs to brighter than the weak stock ones.

is this something you have on now?

I changed the HID bulbs in my 2015 S3 back when I first bought it.

The dingy yellow OE light bulbs sucked.

I replaced them with 5000k HID bulbs.

Then adjusted them up slightly so their light shined farther out in front of the car.

Astonishing what new/better bulbs do and slight adjustment.

I should do that with my 16 S3. After I get out of the SQ5 and into the S3 at night I’m like holy crap I can’t see shit

the LED s3 headlights cant change bulbs. i would need to replace the entire headlight lamp itself.

There maybe a way with VCDS to change how bright they are...and make them brighter...throw out more light.

Swapping to HID from LED is no simple plug N play....

i have not found anyone doing the vcds route for coding it more brighter. let me know if you do find it.

and yeah swapping was always an option i thought would cause more harm than good if i cant get the coding and wiring correctly. they make these cars way more complicated than they need to just keep their control over the end user.

My friend who is a member here has them on his White S3. They're very nice plug and play. However he has complained that the DRL are not bright enough. He has try to raise the brightness via coding using Obdeleven but the headlights don't respond to the coding. He recently mention that there's a company from Argentina that modified that same headlights and make them brighter.

I bought these face-lift style dynamic LED headlights for my 2016 S3 on AliExpress and I haven't had any issues after 2 years. Shipping took around 35 days. The headlights are much brighter than my original Bi-Xenon headlights, the light is whiter, reaches much further, and the DRL look more aggressive.

You can see the individual LEDs that make up the DRL from certain angles which I'm not a fan of in this shot next to a VW Beetle (hard to capture on my cellphone camera):

My cellphone camera has a hard time capturing the DRLs during the evening and at night so in some of these shots the DRLs look blue or blown out (but not to the naked eye):

Idk why the attached images below are not showing up anymore. Let me know if you can see them.

The DRL don't seem as bright during the day as the original ones but it's not an issue for most people. I'm just very picky and wish they were as bright as the original DRL. The DRL are VERY bright during the night and dim when you turn on your low beams just like the original headlights. If you view the DRL from certain angles you can see the individual LEDs that make up the DRL which I'm not a big fan of. I'll try to post a picture showing that. I tried increasing the DRL brightness on the aftermarket headlights via OBDeleven but they're already at max brightness.

To me the headlights are worth it. They make the front end look more aggressive, modern, and they are brighter than the originals. The dynamic turn signals look cool and the headlights have a little animation when they turn on just like the modern RS models.

I have them and they are plug n play. I didn't install them myself however. I had my scheduled maintenance (oil change, haldex service, brake fluid, etc) coming up so I decided to get everything done in one go and had my local shop install them. They didn't mention any problems. I did have some OBDeleven mods done to my original headlights which I reset before the aftermarket headlights were installed. My original headlights were the Bi-Xenon headlights not the full LED and these aftermarket headlights are much brighter, whiter, and reach much further down the road then my original headlights. The high beams look like they reach half a mile away.

I did keep my original headlights just in case the aftermarket ones stop working and for when I eventually sell my car.
