    Question 2013 B8.5 S5 Reliability After Abuse?

Recently picked up a 2013 Audi S5 without doing a PPI first (dumb) and have discovered it needs both Timing Covers replaced as well as the Oil Filter Housing Gasket. It also needs a new clutch pack due to the car not receiving proper ATF servicing at the needed intervals. My question is if I fix these is it highly likely that the car would continue to have new issues come up and need fixing? The car seems to have taken a decent amount of abuse judging by the problems at hand as well has having the passenger side fender liner ripped open to expose the IE air filter to "cold air" which leads me to believe that the previous owner didn't treat the car all too well.

In short, does the fact that the car seems to have been fairly neglected maintenance wise by the previous owner affect the car's reliability in the near/far future in terms of having more repairs come up as time goes compared to a one that was well cared for from the beginning, even if I repair the current issues with the car and proceed with rigorous and timely maintenance for the car?

Any words of advice appreciated, thanks!

Ooooff! Sorry to hear that. Audis can be reliable long-term as long as proper maintenance is meticulously performed. I cannot say for sure how reliable the car will be long-term, but as you already surmised, it appears the prior owner(s) did not maintain it very well.

Were there any Maintenance records for even the normal engine oil changes? Probably should have the rear Diff service too. Do you have a reputable place to do the DSG work (Clutchpacks)? If you have a reputable place to do the Clutchpacks you probably should spend the extra money and have a Mechatronic Electronic board replaced as the latest and most reliable version came out mid-2014. With that said I have a '13 S5 that has been completely reliable at 65k, around 50k I converted it to 034 Motorsports Stg2+ with TCU tune. Thankfully not DSG issues although I have purchased a new electronics board kit from Audi as a preventitive Mx to do when I get the first signs of a problem. Does the car have a tune since it has an IE filter? I start by changing all of the fluids for sure, might as well send an oil sample to Blackstone and see if there is anything showing signs, ie. Copper, Iron, etc... above normal.

As far as maintenance records go, all I had was the car's carfax as I purchased it from a dealership. From what I could tell they weren't too meticulous with servicing the car but did seem to do the bare minimum. I do have a reputable place to do anything that I'd need for the car mechanically. Not sure if the car is on a tune but I don't believe it is. Also figured out the the electronic steering doesn't wanna switch modes and only stays on dynamic in terms of how easy it turns no matter what I've tried.
