Was looking to get feedback about these replacement parts for my car:
    VVT Solenoid (magnet) - P/N: 06L 109 259 D
    VVT Oil Control Valve - P/N: 06H 109 257 C
Just talked with Audi Parts and these parts from them are VERY costly!

I know with some parts on this engine people say stay with Genuine Audi parts only.
Curious if these fit into that category or would after market parts work just as well?
If so are some brands better then others?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't buy an Audi OE N205. When I grabbed one as a replacement when I was playing around with an issue, it was a Febi or INA or such, something not a junk brand. Prior part number was 06J 109 259 A, then 06L 109 259 A, then 06L 109 259 D.

The 4/3 control valve, I think I'd stay Audi OE if I ever had to replace that. But the parts catalog does list several analogues, including Febi 40201 and INA 427 001 610.

    Pierberg, perfectly good brand too.

But that control valve is 06L..., not the 06H... one. Anything is possible, but I'd stick to the 06H 109 257 C as spec'd in the parts catalog. That part did not roll to a later parts bin like many other 06H parts did. At least not according to the catalog. Unfortunately, looks like that's on backorder at FCP: https://www.fcpeuro.com/Audi-parts/A...rds=06h109257c

Looks like the supply chain for that part is in a real shite place right now. I'd be most likely to grab a used real one for $25 in the meantime, https://wolfautoparts.com/cam-camsha...c-ps36797.html
