2022 RS7 or S7? is it worth it?

It's definitely time to get back to Audi. However this market is ridiculous. I'm either going to wait till next year for a correction or should I just opt for the s7? Is the rs7 actually worth the 30k+ jump in price? And has the s7 seen any good tunes so far? I've been reading that others should just opt for a 2017-2018 rs7 instead of a newer S7 however I've had an A and S7 2016-2017(not at the same time obviously) but I really would not like to have the same interior again and I actually like the new tech.

I honestly believe the RS7 is worth the premium over the S7. The S7 is a warmed up A7 with a new 2.9l engine. The exterior is nice but doesn't have that presence that the RS7 has with the wider finders, rear and front spoilers and bigger rims. If you can get an RS7 for msrp before putting deposit down for the order, I say go for it. I love my 2021 RS7 and was going to get the S7 before this and decided that the extra 20-25k was small and I went all the way. It got plenty of power with some room for more after tuning which I plan to do.

IMHO Get an A7 with new APR Tune or an RS7. The new V6 S7 is not really as quick as the old V8 version. So I guess an old V8 S7 could be tuned if you are not concerned about the tech getting long in the tooth.

I do not agree with your assessment. I had a 2016 S7 with the V8 and traded it for a 2020 S7 with the V6. They performed pretty much identically, except the V6 provided better fuel economy for the same BHP and a small bump in torque.

+1 I have a 2022 RS7 and am LOVING it!! Got it for MSRP with nothing down. If you can do that, I definitely agree that you should go for it!

Did you finance or lease? Just curious. I would doubt the lease would be great on it anyway but yea

I really would like the new tech to be honest. However the looks for the rs7 compared to the s7 is so night and day for me. have you done any outside upgrades? Rs7 grille replacement?

The RS definitely is more aggressive looking. My response was to the performance difference between the V8 S7 and the V6 S7. I did not modify either of my S7s, and have traded the 2020 for a 2022 RS6.

Maybe stock for stock. Tuned it is no competition. The V6 simply doesn't have the headroom that the v8 does.

I currently have a '21 RS7, coming from a '15 RS7, both V8's of course. The older RS7 is still a killer ride, but the newer tech in the A7 line is very nice.
If you are comparing a '22 or '23 S7 to an older RS7, I would go for the new S7...you will like the tech for a daily driver. The best combo of course would be the '21 or '22 RS7.

I think honestly.... I'm gonna get an RS5.. wait a year or two and then buy a used Rs7. The prices are just too ridiculous right now, I dont want a used rs7 cause new tech of course and a used S7 2020+ just ain't enough for me

Went to pick up my some touch up paint for my A5 at Audi Louisville. While just checking out the new models a salesman asked me if I wanted to try the new RS5. Sure! What a ride! You may be able to delay the RS7 purchase for a while.

You should go drive a 2020+ S7, it will surprise you. Had one for 2 years after a 2016 S7 and found the performance equal to or slightly better with the 2020.

Me personally I was trying to find an RS6 for my wife than a RS7 and ended up buying a S7 due to the fact that every dealership that had an RS model wanted 50k over msrp and I couldn’t justify it at that 180k price point. My wife is happy with the S7 but I know in her heart of hearts she wants an RS6 so we will see what the market is like in a couple years. I’d hate to jump ship but she like the M8 GC as well so if I can’t get a RS6 then the M8 will be the next choice

The m8 is a good car however I feel like luxury wise it just hits the mark. I had an m8 2020 coupe upgraded from a 2016 s7 and I ended up getting rid of it and went back to audi. For the price it just didn't feel all that amazing. Maybe the GC is better though
