    Thoughts on Kayalama Green RS3?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi all, former S3 and S4 owner. Been away from Audi for a while. Currently driving a Tesla model 3 performance. I have been lusting a new 2023 RS3. My local dealers have been telling me 2 plus year wait for one as their allocations are sold. Well yesterday I received a call from our largest audi dealer that they have an unsold allocation for a kayalama green rs3 available. My initial reaction was no, the color is too bold so I told them no. After a few minutes the color started growing on me and I called them back. They already had someone else ready to take the car and offered me a very solid trade in value on my Tesla ( more than I paid).

So I kind of dig the color but i also prefer not to draw too much attention to myself. I’m 47 not 27 and do need to host clients from time to time. I took the car (of course) but talk me off the ledge that I won’t regret the color. This is a unique opportunity for me because I can sell the tesla at a market high and get the Audi for msrp. My wife hates the color and thinks I’m going to look like a jacka$$. Thanks in advance.

With a sea of black/white/all shades of gray/silver cars out there, I would go kayalama green or turbo blue if and when I get an RS3 (if I can get some type of discount for it's last year run). Heck, I would even consider python yellow or tango red before any other colors! At least you would have a conversion starter with your client as how you came to that bold color choice vs the "compliance norm". Oh...I just turned 52...so age shouldn't deter your decision from a color that you liked. At my age, I could care less what others think of me or my decisions as long as I'm happy with it. If I did, I wouldn't still be tooling around in an Imola Red Z4MC and continuously changing/modding to my liking!

Every time that I look out of our parking lot at work with a sea of black/white/gray/silver Tesla, I've been reminded of this commercial => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqAeLacACik

Thanks. Just the advice I’m looking for. I’m matched with the green interior it’s killer. Fwiw I was told no discount and I’m lucky no “market adjustment”. It certainly won’t be missed in the neighborhood.

I think the green is gorgeous and would definitely go for any of more colorful choices (red, yellow, green, blue) with turbo blue being my personal favorite.

Congratulation! Sounds like you got a great deal - it's tough just to get cars at MSRP these day and age. My take is that fun cars should have fun colors. We need to continue to buy these fun "skittles" colors so manufacturers would continue to offer them. Otherwise, we'll just get those 50 shades of gray

It's an RS3, in a pod of what's probably going to be the smallest number of RS's ever coming to the us due to production snafu and parts problems, and that green color is the best one in my opinion. Someone at audi marketing probably thinks so too, they use that green in a lot of their promo material for the rs3.

Theres always boring grays and what nots, this green color epitomizes the spirit of that bad as$ little car. You will never have trouble selling it either because the rare colors like this green are sought after once production ends. like the rare yellow b7 rs4. I wouldn't think twice about it.

Also whoever you're hosting cannot be put off by it, the car may bring some levity to whatever it is, it's such a sexy little amphibious looking beast in that color. I bet you will get tons of complements, and although I understand not wanting attention, you'll just have to accept it. And if it's too bad you'll be able to sell it easily, shit ill buy it. thats the best color. congratulations.

Thanks man. To update this thread, what started as hesitation has turned into a love affair. Had my green rs3 for almost a month and I can’t imagine it in any other color.

I think that color is sick, but can’t imagine myself owning it. Your brave and all power to you. Just glad to hear you don’t regret it.

I understand your point. But tbh it really suits the car. I get to drive a badass car in a badass color. Yes, I’d probably prefer a lower key color but if anyone wants to make fun of me, I’ll just blow the doors off of them because I’m faster that 99.9 percent of cars on the road.
