Question How much hp can a Audi a4 b8 CVT 2.0T fwd get?

I love the CVT and bought one but I was thinking about adding a new turbo to reach around 320hp but I heard someone said it's not recommended since the CVT wouldn't handle the power so I decided to ask here for more info and see if it's true

The CVT (VL381-F aka type 0AW) is designed for handling up to 380 Nm (280 ft-lbs). Not sure which specific engine you are looking at down there. The CAEB 2.0T here is rated at 208 bhp (155 kW) power and 258 ft-lbs of torque (350 Nm). The typical tune just increases boost across the board, which means more torque. More than the type 0AW is designed to handle. So tune it, but expect to be repairing that CVT sooner than later.

The weaker B8 2.0T is 132 kW / 320 Nm. So still not a lot of room to add torque. But if you look at the curve, you'll see the torque drops off towards redline. Maybe a tune that adds only so much torque down low and is more about sustaining the boost to higher rpm to get that higher power rating would be perfectly fine.

Thanks, yeah I will just add some bolt-ons and avoid the turbo and try to sell it and get a better car

I wouldn't add any more power to a CVT car, that's beyond what it can handle. You'll either want a Tiptronic car (ideally 8 speed) or a manual transmission car. You can still have fun with the CVT car, maybe an exhaust or intake for some extra turbo noises but adding extra power is asking for trouble IMO
