    2022 Glacier White RS3 8Y thread

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just picked up my 2022 RS3 and traded in my 2019 RS3.

Car is larger and feels more luxurious than the last model.

Overwhelmed by the technology so far.

    Tomorrow I get window tint.

Sharing a few pics from today.

Anyone have questions, I'll try to answer. 20220725_180423.jpg20220725_180638.jpg20220725_180646.jpg20220725_180659.jpg20220725_181020.jpg20220725_181029.jpg

I defend the white color. I could have save $595 by choosing the cheapest of all colors(Nardo gray) when I built my car but in the hot desert you want white.

Looks great man! I didn't know you could get the front tinted. Also my tint place doesn't have the designs for the new RS3 did you get yours hand cut?

Pictures from this morning over Lizard Head Pass, Colorado.

I drove early this morning from Telluride to Rico and back, crossing over Lizard Head Pass (elevation just above 10,000 feet). The RS3 is made for winding mountain roads like this one, and the car is awesome. I can feel the back end rotation being helped by the RS torque splitter, helping minimize understeer. I have to get on the throttle earlier than a RWD car so that it pulls through the corner. The engine feels under-rated at 401 HP even at these very high elevations. Dare I say it, the car is a steal at $60-$65K.

Great to hear! My wife took the car to see her friends in another city and left right when it was good to go / broken in. So I haven't punched it but she has and she is in LOVE. Can't wait to feel it for myself!

Some tint shops have computer cutting with the tint so they get an easier install of it - great you got hand cut it looks great!

It honestly gets a lot better with chrome Audi rings and RS3 badges. Just something to add contrast and break up the black hole up front.

I'm seriously tired of this "black out everything" trend in the automotive world lol, especially wheels.

Having a white car is all about contrast I think. I won’t be blacking out anything.

I'm sure the black trend will pass eventually. Maybe the industry will find a moderation point somewhere behind the old "everything chrome" look and the new "blacked out appearance packs everywhere" trend. I remember when I was a kid and gold trim was all the rage.

Nice to see you here after seeing your name for years in the VW forums - I'm a fellow mk7 GTI owner waiting for an RS3 allocation. I would have bought a Golf R by now if it wasn't for VW being completely idiots about the infotainment.

Car looks like a great base/platform to customize. I saw someone paint match the chrome surround, so its not a huge blob of black in the front, and it made it look a lot better imo.

Now to figure out a solution for the faux grille across the whole back bumper. Look forward to seeing some mods.

ya, I got everyone below MSRP on Golf R's back in 2015/ 2016 at the Idaho dealership. I had a deposit on a 2016 for over 5 months and was told they didn't know if I'd ever get one. So I canceled my deposit and bought a 2016 M235i...

I sold that July of 2020 and bought a NEW 2019 Audi RS3 (left over stock in Long Beach). Decided to trade that in on a 2022. I paid $60,000 OTD in 2020 and dealer gave me $59,606.25 2 weeks ago. It was a no brainer!!

Hope you get your RS3 soon..... way better car than my 2019 RS3!!

Honda made a CRV "Black edition" with gloss black wheels, etc. When mom's kid hauler is getting blacked out, its not cool anymore.

my car was in the shop at Audi from Tuesday morning until 7pm tonight on Friday.

Feels so good to be out of that A4 and back into my RS3!!

BTW, my car was in the shop 1 week after purchase for a Oil Pressure System Malfunction.

They replaced a couple of parts and changed the oil and filter. Seems to be fixed.

But, there is a night and day difference between the 2022 A4 and 2022 RS3

I thought I'd add a video of someone else comparing the 8V to the 8Y
