The q7 would need new spindles to do 360 or 390 since the calipers are top mount and Q7 is an older platform with side mount calipers (18z/17z). Since I didn’t want to change spindles I focused on the turbo cayenne brake options. 380mm/368mm up front and 358mm rears. The 380mm rotors are $650-$750 each. The 368mm rotors are about $100 each from FCP and this makes for a front brake upgrade that’s equal or less than the 350mm replacement in cost. I stumbled upon a pretty good deal for the 368mm calipers, bought them for less than I can sell my 18Z for. Now to refinish them in my buddy’s powder coat over and install new seals.
Now in for all the people saying a good set of pads and rotors blah blah blah. Yeah my q7 had factory pads and rotors installed before I bought it. I’ve had brake fade after a hard drive and I wasn’t even towing. Hell just the other day I had to do a quick stop and was wishing I had more brake.
So yeah the 368mm upfront and then the 358mm rears will be the path. Unfortunately the 358 rears are a little more pricey than the 330mm parts but oh well FCP only makes you pay once and then any increases.
For the parts necessary to do the 368mm brakes here is a break out on the Touareg group:

For pads I have been able to track down the part numbers for EBC Red. Here are the part numbers of pad options:

To look up parts from Porsche for the 368mm you either need to look for a 2008 Porsche Cayenne turbo (one year only brake size) or a Porsche Cayenne GTS as they were an option but just look up the turbo to save yourself headaches.

I'll be rebuilding the calipers and bought new seals and pistons from Bigg Red in the UK, its cheaper to buy from their eBay store due to shipping, I've used them for my Boxsters and a few other seats of oddball seals. Great service:

I had to measure the pistons to and message them to get the right kit but super friendly to work with and the seals are OEM quality versus the seals I've used from centric for my Boxster calipers.

***ignore the $30 of trailing arm bushings*** those are for my CC
