Thought I would start a thread on OBDEleven and what has worked for my B9.5 RS5.

There’s a great thread/document on Audiworld but it’s mostly B9 or different cars and nothing is confirmed working for the newer models, without scrolling through hundreds of pages at least.

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...mG4MjDUXM/edit

Here is what I have done. So far I’ve not tried anything that failed, so all of these are tried and successful:

    Scandinavian DRLs
Description: Tail lights on with DRLs.

    Disable DRL Wink
Description: Instead of turning off the respective side DRL when turn signals come on, it will dim them. Side effect is that the taillights are always on. Example here.

    Easy Entry
Description: Moves the seat back to help enter and exit the vehicle
Note: I did not do the additional or optional coding, I only did the first main section and have so far had it work 100% of the time with 0 issues

    Changing Comfort Turn Signal Count
Description: This will change the number of times the blinker flashes when lightly pressing down on the turn signal stalk. By default, it blinks 3 times. Max value: 5.

Adjust the volume of the Lu Soundaktor
Description: Volume adjustment for the Soundaktor engine inside the car. To mute, use value: 0

    Welcome sound
Description: Startup sound plays when MMI/vehicle is turned on
Adjust audio in MMI ‘Sound’ > ‘Welcome sound’ settings.
Note: I also changed an additional value, I now have the welcome tone on entry and the heartbeat on exit

Disable Head Lamp / Light Wash
Description: Disable head lamp / light wash

I’ve also had my lasers and matrix headlights activated, orange side markers removed and added the acceleration timer, this was not with OBDEleven but I have had no issues with this and the other changes I’ve made at all.

Please share your Easy Entry coding in detail.

I've had no luck, but maybe doing too much. Did you see the store in MMI option after you coded it?

This worked on my 2018 S4, but I could not make it work on the 2021 RS5.

    OBDEleven B9.5

    Yeah no worries

So here is the only part I followed

36 - Seat Adjustment Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Change: Easy_Entry_front to Active
    Change: Easy_Entry_fond to Active
    Change: enabling_EasyEntry_front_seat_by_BCM to Active
Press and hold green check mark to accept
“Store settings on remote control key” must be selected in the MMI Driver’s Seat settings page

    Additional coding:
    09 - Central ㅇElectrics
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1
    and
36 - Seat Adjust Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1

Except I did not worry about the MMI drivers seat setting page as I believe this is B9 only.

Now I cannot recall, I’ll check tomorrow to confirm, but I believe one of the options; potentially Easy_Entry_fond, didn’t exist. If it was there I changed it, if it wasn’t I didn’t of course and it still worked, so if something is missing don’t worry.

I did this while the power, but not the engine was on and the hood was open for all of it. I then had to cycle the car after closing the hood: I simply moved it back into the parking space. When I got back in everything worked.

I turned off the track timer in the HUD but might turn it back on, I wish I could change that for a rev gauge or literally anything else than a lap timer I will never use.

    daytonars5,
Thank you. I'll try again. I so enjoyed this function in my B9 S5. It saved my back. My RS5 is kind of killing my back.

So I did the easy entry again, and it worked! Thanks to DaytonaRS5.

But I need to clarify a couple of things:

(Turn car ignition on, do not start)
    (Open hood)

36 - Seat Adjustment Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Change: Easy_Entry_front to Active
    Change: Easy_Entry_fond to Active
    Change: enabling_EasyEntry_front_seat_by_BCM to Active
Press and hold green check mark to accept
(These are all there to change to active.)
(Now do the additional coding below.)

    Additional coding:
    09 - Central ㅇElectrics
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1
    and

(This last entry, when I tried to enable it, it gave me an error, saying that the function doesn't exist.)
36 - Seat Adjust Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1

    (Ignore error.)
(Close the hood, power off the car.)
(At this point, the seat went back. I closed the door, started the car, the seat went forward to the preset position.)

Appreciate the amendment, I’ll share it with the doc owner for the b9.5 so we can help some others enjoy this awesome feature

Thought I’d bump this thread up, see if there’s anything new?
I wanted to add, after my recall for the camera I lost the ability to move while watching something. Going to turn it back on, I only use it for busy drive-throughs and it’s annoying to have the screen black out to gently roll forward a car space.

How did you do that and did it disable any other HUD elements?

So far I have a few changes:
enabled Video in motion to allow playing videos while moving
Configured parking brake to engage automatically when the car is turned off- this has been my favorite programming mod so far.
I tried messing with the lake keep assist to make it steer better and for longer but I gave up.
I set comfort turn signal to 4 seconds
Turned off B&O speaker light bar
A couple more changes that I can't remember

Unfortunately when you disable the lap timer, it also removes the oil temp and gear you are in. For me, it was worth it to not have the silly lap timer always there.

There is no need to code out the RS HUD. If you want to keep the RS HUD (speed, oil temp, gear, shift lights) without the useless lap timer there is a simple hack that I can confirm works:

1 - Open Lap timer page on VC.
    2 - Start Lap Timer.
3 - Let Lap Timer count over 1 hour.
4 - Shut car off without stopping lap timer.

Next time you switch to RS mode it changes to the sport HUD without the lap timer.

Cool thanks! Now I just have to figure out how I disabled it in OBD11 (there was two different things that needed to be toggled off). Hmm

Does anyone know wether or not the acceleration measurement can be enabled on a US market ‘23 RS5 using OBDeleven? I was thinking of buying an OBDeleven if it can.

I looked up my thread, and this was how it was done:
In the Display Module long coding, change "Laptimer_activated" to "not available".

Glad I read this thread now!

The start up MMI sound is about the only option I have not enabled in my B9 RS5, as I had assumed it would just be some annoying little tune. When I enabled it, I was presently surprised to discover that it’s actually the Audi heartbeat noise 😎

Doesn’t look like there are many options to change it either via OBD11 or the MMI, but regardless it’s working and that’s a result 👍

If you don’t mind, how exactly was it that you cracked the video in motion feature?! I know that some coding with OBD11 is also very similar as with the Ross-Tech cable but I haven’t been able to get it to work with my Tech. Perhaps the steps could also be the same on this specific feature.

    Nice!
I’ll have to pick up an OBDeleven and enable it so I can apply for the cool kids club.
I still think it’s stupid that it’s not enabled from the factory on RS models.

That link is using the OBDII and spending credits for a script.

Is there a way to do this without spending the credits? I've read up on many threads on how to manually code the VIM, but none has worked so far. Obviously it's doable, just no source being shared.

There's instructions linked in that thread, scroll down to i3oricua's post. I didn't try it myself though.
edit: instructions are for MIB2 not MIB3. Sorry, I didn't notice.

Not sure if this will work with the MIB 3. I know this article is for MIB 2.

But I need to clarify a couple of things:

(Turn car ignition on, do not start)
    (Open hood)

36 - Seat Adjustment Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Change: Easy_Entry_front to Active
    Change: Easy_Entry_fond to Active
    Change: enabling_EasyEntry_front_seat_by_BCM to Active
Press and hold green check mark to accept
(These are all there to change to active.)
(Now do the additional coding below.)

    Additional coding:
    09 - Central ㅇElectrics
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1
    and

(This last entry, when I tried to enable it, it gave me an error, saying that the function doesn't exist.)
36 - Seat Adjust Drivers Side
    Long Coding
    Byte 14, bit 2 change from 0 to 1

    (Ignore error.)
(Close the hood, power off the car.)
(At this point, the seat went back. I closed the door, started the car, the seat went forward to the preset position.)
I too had the last entry error when trying to enable it, saying “The function doesn't exist”.

Has anyone determined the specifics to why this might come up on certain cars? If so, maybe a note should be added to the OBDEleven Google Doc for reference.

I had previously attempted the One Click App unsuccessfully prompting me to long code it. Even with the error the function now works as intended.

Has anyone figured out how to enable the RS specific “runway” dash pictured above? It appears other RS cars get this but I read in the USA the B9.5 RS5 only the competition model gets it. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
