** VCDS Mod List for B9 **

I figured there should be a thread for this platform like they have for C7 platform, one place to post all the known VCDS mods/how-tos for this platform. People usually make a new post for each mod and there ends op being information in 50 different threads. Lets use this to put them all in one spot. Perhaps if multiple users contribute, the forum mod can make it a sticky reference.

Please, If possible, create your post with pictures and/or detailed steps to perform whatever mod you are adding to this thread to help others, as that is the goal. If you perform a mod and have additional info to share, please do. Perhaps there's a different way to do it, it doesn't work for some reason, etc...

Please keep in mind that not all of these mods will work on all B9. Many things will depend on trim level and equipment the vehicle actually has.

Window Auto Drop

-This mod will lower your window slightly when opening the door so that when you close the door you dont have the effect of the increased pressure/airtight. Some people find this helpful so they don't feel like they have to slam the doors to close them.

Did the gear number when I first got the car, as well as disabling DRL's when headlights are in off position and seatbelt chime.

Looking forward to doing the side markers and auto drop, maybe recirc as well.

The coming home function lights up the area round the vehicle after dark when the ignition has been switched off and the driver's door opened. It switches on the fog lights, rear lights and number plate lights.

As far as the start/stop, I know there are a number of ways you can kill it, and it varies by vehicle. The start/stop system has to meet a variety of parameters in order for it to even work. Some, like the Q5, can use the HVAC trick (which I have added into the post with the other method in post 15), some can simply disable it in VCDS somewhere as if the vehicle is not equippped with start/stop (similar to how you can disable rear wiper for Q5, by unchecking that its installed), others can use a voltage trick where you set the min voltage down low so its never possible to come on (this is possible on the C7 platform, although not needed because you can code the s/s switch to remember setting and just turn it off with the dash button perm)...

Yeah, as I had mentioned in OP... Some tweaks will work and some will not dpending on vehicel and trim levels... For example, if you have an S or RS, needle sweep is enabled from factory...
