Who has put matte paint protection film on the interior piano black & what’s the feedback? The gloss seems like a dirt magnet and I’m at the very least gonna put regular PPF on all of it but considering the stealth

So I just got stealth done on the screens and regular on the rest. It’s amazing. The piano black so far seems to resist fingerprints and the stealth just looks great. The screen looks really nice and doesn’t pick up fingerprints at all. Highly recommended.

I went with the anti microbial RX stuff. Supposedly it’s specifically setup for touch screens. It’s great however it’s lacking the self healing properties but has microbe resistance…It still has the look of the stealth but if I did it again I’d probably just get the stealth bits. I did both screens and all the piano black and nothing sticks so it’s amazing that way.

Wow! That looks really good. I've been trying to figure out what to do with the piano black bits. Our center console has already been scratched, no idea how, but it is deep enough to be felt when running a finger nail across it. I'm considering a replacement but don't want to just scratch it again. What a stupid decision on Audi's part to put such a fragile part in an area guaranteed to get high exposure/use...

I ordered my kit from xpel and it was 130 bucks. Install varies by location and other factors but my guy charged me 100 bucks. I did all the piano black bits and screens up front and the screen in the back seat as well.

Any gaps around the edges? Anyone do this themselves? Is it self adhesive? The guy who did ppf on the outside of my car is a pretty high volume installer and said he didn’t feel comfortable around all the electronics.

One of the installers I use said the same but the other did it. There are small gaps for me with the precut kit but very minor.

I also paid ~$130 for the kit from Xpel. I suggest calling them, and they will put together a custom kit that covers the area you want. I believe their standard kit covers door and dash trim that is not applicable in the RS models due to the exposed carbon fiber. The item from my invoice is UP1701887-US: Interior Kit w/o Door Pieces or Main Dash 22 Audi RS6 Avant -P2417L (Stealth)

My dealer installed at no additional cost when I had ppf and ceramic coatings applied to the whole vehicle. It shouldn't take anyone too long that knows what they are doing. Installers with their own plotters could presumably cut their own, but the kit was perfect in this instance.

There are very sight gaps around the edges, but they are hardly noticeable. This is to be expected, as you cannot really wrap the edges on these pieces.

I did xpl stealth on my screen and gloss ppf on the piano black trim. Keeps the oem look but no more scratches and now super easy to clean and take care of.
The screen and buttons all work exactly the same, no issues. Now there is no more screen glare with that nice matte finish and also no more fingerprints.
It's a must do for all modern vehicles.

I’d go +1 on the stealth. Looks much better with no fingerprints, I guess you could do gloss, but I think it would have more glare.

Just the piano black non-screen areas. Carbon fiber and screens I left as is...

I think you’d have a tough time getting PPF on the carbon as it’s not flat

I did their rx not their stealth and fingerprints are almost non existent for me. Might be diff with pure stealth?

That's nuts! Kit was $135 shipped for me. My detailer installed it for no additional cost when doing other ppf/ceramic.

If you have to do yourself, its not necessarily hard, but you need a steady hand and attention to detail. Good luck!

Yeah I thought it was “nuts” as well. I watched a few YouTube videos. I’m a cardiac surgeon hope that qualifies in the steady hand and attention to detail category. Will see lol !

Ha! If you don't have the steady hand to get the job done, I don't know who would. How did it turn out? I'd like to do the area near shifter/cup holders and screens. I like the piano on dash and most certainly won't mess with the open CF; it looks great as is and seems hardy enough to withstand daily use and weekly "gentle" cleaning.

For application it’s wet and if they are heavy handed to wet could mean water in the Mmi. I’ve used my guy for years and he was very aware and careful.

I called them directly but this was damn near 3 years ago...maybe policy changed?

My shop did all of the piano black area, but declined to do the MMI screen itself due to the risk associated with the water. They didn't tell me until I picked it up so I was a little bummed, but its been fine with the occasional wipe with a microfiber. Everything else looks great.
