    Audi Key FOB - Replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

Per the subject, my B7 key is getting beat-up and worn down (rings fell off), I wanted to get a replacement B7 Key FOB. What do I need to look for when purchasing a replacement off of eBay / Amazon? I want to get an OEM replacement if possible, and not anything with cheap plastic. I am guessing I can just buy a new FOB and switch out the actual key blade and swap it into the replacement FOB and be good to go?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks,
    Asif

I replaced my key through a dealership. I think I paid over $200 US.

Ya won't need a whole new key, programmed, etc. Just buy a new case, assuming everything works fine, and swap over the guts.

Thanks fella's. So, what should I look for when looking for a replacement FOB? Again, I know there are some on Ebay + Amazon, anyone bought any recently?

    Thanks!

Its only a plastic case, so any should be fine.

Be carefull here. There is a sealed compartment in the key with the id48 crypto chip in it. It is glued in and it's glass. It is burned to the immobilizer, you break that crystal and you are in a bit of a hurt basket..

I've purchased from here, including a few just a month or so ago to stock up on spares: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XW15Z8L/

Very happy with the quality. They come assembled, and they do have a spot to put the Audi emblem on the rear, but don't have the emblem itself. I never cared enough to transfer it over.
