Anyone running the Milltek exhaust system? My friend has the Akro, great sound but just a little too quite for me. Looking online it seems Milltek might be the best option or go the red star route..
    Let me know anyones feedback

I have one on my RS6 and love it, one of the first mods I did. Nice deep tone, valves off sounds like stock when you want to be civil. Start up sounds incredible with a nice series of burbles and pops, nothing annoying like some others I have heard. Subtle burbles and pops on decel and in between gears. Some have complained about the "drone" at idle and in between 1200-1800 rpm but I don't see it that way. If it was any quieter, I wouldn't feel like I've upgraded. These cars are so well insulated I feel it's just perfect.

Overall, the system is great. Sounds fantastic at idle as well with valves open. I get compliments all of the time.

I purchased mine through Jimminez@Nemesis here on the forums.

Perfect description. I do find the loudness of idle/low rpm with valves open slightly annoying at times, but yes any quieter and it wouldn't be a big enough change for me. I wish the car didn't bump up the idle rpm in S - that's the main cause of any annoyance.

We have done quite a few Milltek and tons of Akrapovic at the shop (as well as Capristo, ABT, and even just res deletes)

Milltek's full non resonated system has a pretty aggressive tone, and really wakes up the car. In comparison, I think the Akrapovic is a bit more civilized, where Milltek has a lower tone with a bit more resonance in the cabin (makes sense due to stainless vs titanium) however I think Akrapovic also tends to drone slightly less than Milltek when the valves are closed.

They are both great options, and I think it just depends on how loud you may or may not want the car to be.

Here is a Milltek non resonated with black ceramic tip system that we just installed the other day.

Not to hijack the thread, but how does the sound of the Capristo compare to the Milltek?

I decided to go with the IPE exhaust and I like everything about the set up. With the app or sensor, you can switch to closed, open or automatic.

For closed valves, you get a nice growl on the start and then, it is a little deeper than closed stock.

For open valves, it is everything where it comes alive. Pure V8 sound when you press on it and plenty of deep burbles on downshift.

For automatic, you can set up your preferences on the app for when and how long the valves open. Quite a nice set up.

On all honesty, I wasn’t sold on the dual tips at first but i decided to go with the black chromed tips and it really grown on me which I like a lot now.

    Here are a couple shots

The big thing I always want in these posts is a before and after audio clip in the same space and microphone. hard sell I know.
