    bosch wiper blades

    greetings

    i have a 2018 a5 s/b prem/plus, s/line. im looking to soon replace the wiper blades.
can blades only be replaced or both blades and arms ?

the bosch website had me enter my specific vehicle info and when i did a number of models came up.
but it didnt specify which ones came on my car from the factory. any recommendation for what bosch to select .

perhaps an improved model came on scene since factory oem.
or perhaps there is even a better performer then the bosch brand.

    thank you

I assume the B9 use the same design as the B8, those one-piece "aero" blades, which at least on Audis, suck. Audi only quotes the part number for the pair in the parts catalog, 8W1 998 002 for LHD.

The attachment looks just like the B8. No idea if Bosch is the OEM this time around. Bosch has turned their online catalog into complete crap over the past two years. I mean extreme complete crap. And their wiper blades don't last well anyway. If you do go with the ICONs, as noted on the site, you need the ClearMax 365 marked ones which include the narrow 16mm top lock. The unmarked ICONs only have the 19mm top lock attachment or wide 22mm top lock.

I got the carbon fiber blades and arms from Clix Wipers. They have a ton of colors and options to choose from. They come from Canada 2 day shipping. You can even set up a date to have replacement blades delivered or order new ones when you are ready. Very good customer service too!!

I bought the Bosch wiper blades recommended on their website for my 2018 S5, but found that the Audi OEM blades were quieter and better overall. I found that the Bosch arms were not identical to Audi, and I presume the rubber is not either.

Wiper arms tend to refer to the metal arms attached to the wiper motor. One never replaces these on a normal car.
Wiper blades tend to refer to the object that attaches to the arms and actually contacts the windshield.
Wiper refills tend to refer to rubber refills for wiper blades that support refilling with new rubber. I'm not aware of any aero style blades (such as used on the B8 and B9) supporting refills.

So presuming the OP is asking for new wiper blades, as his have worn out. As noted, the Audi B8 and B9 arms use a 16mm top lock mount; make sure the blades you get have the adapter to mount to them.

Bosch might be the OE for the blades the Audi factory uses, but there's no reason to presume any Bosch aftermarket (OEM field replacement) product is the same caliber as what they are supplying Audi. You want Audi original, you buy Audi OE, not Bosch OEM.

I've been happy with the Michelin ones I've been using most recently. But they, like every aero style I've tried since getting this car 10 years ago, have short lives compared to the style on my original G35. 6 months and they are all pretty done.

Bosch blades suck now. Google these, this is what you want.

OEM or bust. I've always had issues with aftermarket wipers and they always look a little funky with the adapters.
