For my 2015 S3 I used G052145S2 which is 75W90 synthetic gear oil. I bought it here:

    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...ter/g052145s2/

Helpful guide below. Might as well change the rear diff fluid as well. I bought three liters for both because I think front or rear requires a little over a liter.

What's the service interval on the diff fluid? I'm probably due also. I've been a fan of Redline synthetics for my stuff. My Touareg had lifetime fill on the trans, and I decided to change it after 220,000 miles and 14 years, and it looked brand new still - they weren't kidding about lifetime fill!

There is no VW/Audi interval specified...however the bevel box suffers from the old evaporating diff oil issue of older Audi's as its vented to atmosphere...

I changed my bevel box oil(aka front diff) not to be confused with the DSG gears...and its less than 1 quart of 75w-90 looked darker then new...seems it generates some heat...is air cooled...sits directly behind the engine...not sure really if it gets any cooling air...as you can see the cooling fins pictured above...

    https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/min...using.7615825/

My bevel box gears started to make noise...gear noise...whine...so I added this:

    Noise deminished.

    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ation-2016-RS3

What's important to note is don't fill the wrong part with the wrong oil. Especially the Haldex. Make certain in the differential part of the Haldex thats getting the 75w-90.

Same with the DSG. It does not get any 75w-90.

Guy over on the RS3 forums put 75w-90 in his Haldex...required new Haldex...then he blamed ECS for selling him the wrong oil! Dont be that guy!

I had a shop change both the front and rear diff fluid at 80k miles / 7 years even though they are technically life time fluids. Shop said front fluid was dark and seemed like a change was a good idea. They said the rear fluid looked fine though.

I’ll probably just buy the OEM fluid then.

Are there any tutorials for the front bevel box fluid change? I can find the Haldex and rear diff videos, but nothing for the front...

Did you do a complete front diff oil swap and then add the entire contents, or did you just open up the fill port and squeeze this in?

At 70,000 I drained the bevel box...to see the condition of the oil...it was darker in color than new oil...filled with new oil.

At 100,000 I drained the bevel box oil again. Same darker color...

I also had some gear whine from the bevel box...so I added the MoS2 with the new oil at 100k.

    I now have 170,000

The rear diff oil looked good the two times I changed it before adding the MoS2.

When you did the front diff, did you have trouble accessing the fill port? Did you remove the heat shield or were you able to get around it?

First time...removed heat shield...working thru right front wheel well...wheel and tire removed. 1/4 drive couple long extensions...

Found a hose that fit inside the tiny fill port and a large syringe...

Awesome thanks. I found a good video. He's working on a Golf R but should be pretty similar for the S3

This also may come in handy when filling the bevel box. Not sure if anyone has used it, but I might give it a try...

Purchased 2 bottles. Is the rear diff the same fluid as the front bevel box? Planning to service the Haldex soon. I got quoted $280 including parts & labor for the rear + haldex from an indy.

The rear diff same yes. Make sure its the diff section and not the Haldex section.
