Accuracy of ECS Tuning Billet Engine Oil Dipstick

I bought this ECS Tuning dipstick back in May, 2020 and have noticed that the dipstick shows the oil to be full when the MMI is still on the last notch before full (1/8 down?). When I add oil to get the MMI to say full, it goes over the full line on the dipstick. This last time, it went over the line and the MMI still shows it being short.

When the oil is new, it's very difficult to tell exactly where it lines up on the dipstick and photos are useless. However, I just changed the oil with the MMI reading short and the attached pic is the corresponding dip stick reading with dirty oil - so you can actually see what I'm talking about.

This dipstick is not listed for the B9 SQ5, only the S4/S5 - even with the same engine. I've always presumed it would be identical since they share the same engine, but finally wondering if this is so. I'm curious what other's experiences are.

From my experience the MMI oil level is not reliable. I also have the ECS dip stick and trust it. Had the same problem with being able to see the level with the dip stick so I taped off the area above and below the level markers and gave the area in between a light sand blasting. Much easier the see now even with new oil.

As a service to the community, can you measure the length of the dipstick? From the tip to the shoulder where it seats on the tube. TIA.

What I'm also curious about is the sensitivity of readings to "level". I've tried leveling my car in the garage using handmade ramps to raise the rear wheels almost 2" (my slab settled). But I also don't experience service stations in my area being level. I've tried measuring in one direction, turning around and trying again. Haven't done rhis in awhile. Seems like hot oil reads differently as well (today it read full after a long trip, but fresh oil read low on the MMI.

Well. 24 hours turned into almost a week. I guess I had a Geezer moment and almost forgot completely.

Anyway, from tip to shoulder is 19 3/4". From tip to Full line is 15/16" and from tip to the first line (low) is 3/8". Attached photo is only for reference since the camera angle only shows approximate measurements.

Thanks @spindlewood. I'll try to find a VAG equivalent and publish it's part number if I do.

I have this ECS dipstick also and if you do a drain out the bottom of pain, replace filter and refill with recommended amount of oil it is just slightly above the full line on dipstick and the MMI will read full.
It serves it's purpose for me, doesn't have to be 100% perfect.
