$800 and only for the OE air suspension...

Well that really sucks on a few levels.

Ordered. I think I'm looking forward to these even more than the go-fast parts I have ready to install.

We have not confirmed fitment on standard non-air suspension - for that reason, it is listed as only for OE air suspension.

Once we get a non-air car in the shop, or someone tests this for us, then we can update the fitments :)

As for the price, you will understand once you put your hands on a set. The amount of metal used in these things is significant compared to smaller cars. An extra month was added to production just to have larger boxes made strong enough to hold the weight of both of these things. The inherent increase in the cost of materials for two sway bars at such large sizes will always impact price.

Would be very interested in rear only. No interest in doing the front. Even on this pig.

In our testing, we did try an initial "rear only" setup and were left wanting more.

For this reason, we decided to do a full front and rear bar setup only. This is going to be the most substantive setup available for the SQ5 and ultimately transform the way the car handles.

I tested an upgraded rear bar only for a few variations (20% more, 60% more, 100% more, even more than that, and some spots in between) and regardless of the setup, body roll was still significant and the car was generally unsettled. It would bounce through corners and very easily snap around in a hard to control manner during those bounces. In some cases, it came around faster than most folks could ever catch under relatively normal driving (especially in the wet) which would be too dangerous, especially considering that SQ5s are generally a family car that is used for multiple purposes. If you were only doing AutoX this might be fine, but it is not something we are looking to provide.

For those reasons, we switched to a Front and Rear combination. Unlike other platforms and cars, a rear only upgrade simply did not suit this chassis well. WIth a front and rear bar paired together, stability and refinement is still retained while offering great handling dynamic and rotation (when you want it).

I would recommend trying the front bar at Soft and rear bar at Stiff, you won't be disappointed. If you want to go crazy you can always keep the stock front bar installed, but I really would not recommend this.

Thanks Sean/Nick for the further details. I've found on most (every?) platform I've upgraded sway bars that doing the front makes things too neutral while adding significant stiffness over bumps/uneven terrain. That being said, I've never done this on an SUV (although the V70R was quite the pig ).

I’d be happy to test them also on my non-air setup. I’m running H&R Super Sport Springs AND their Sway Bars. I could give to some feedback on how they compare.

While cruising on a smooth road, the ride will not be any different. Any change in ride quality is going to be noticed most when one side of the car is loaded.

That said, the SQ5 feels less "lofty" with the sway bars installed and we found it to ride better than the factory in most cases when going over bumps and oscillations in the road.

Snagged a few shots comparing the factory rear sway bar to the 034Motorsport upgraded rear sway bar. Man, the factory looks tiny. Keep in mind that the factory bar is also hollow.

To those wondering about fitment with non-air ride cars, we have a customer who will be test-fitting.

I will have to wait to install because some of the end links are on back order, but yeah that sounds good! I don’t see many modded B9 Qs out here so that will be nice

I've had the 034 links installed with the OEM Sways a while back, glad I did. The OEM links will also work with 034 Sways. Yeah modded Q's and SQ's are almost non-existent out here and we're so close to CA with tons...shame.

Do you ship to Belgium? Or have dealers in Belgium?

I've noticed that the ride gets bumpy in short turns, since i've lowered mine with droplinks, especially when in dynamic mode. Doesn't that get worse with a stiffer setup?

    Here's our dealer locator: https://store.034motorsport.com/reso...r-locator.html

Sway bars are not adding more spring rate or adding/removing compression from your shocks to change ride quality, they are simply better linking your left/right wheels. While cruising on a smooth road, the ride will not be any different. Any change in ride quality is going to be noticed most when one side of the car is loaded.

Installed the 034 Front and Rear Sway bars today. These were bought through the goat Mops@Nemesis.

    Rear Installation:
Straight forward and you will need to drop the exhaust a little bit to get the stock bar out of the way. The 034 bar was much easier to put back into place. Although it was much thicker and heavier than the stock bar, it's a beefy mfr. Took about 90mins taking my time. I decided to put it on the stiff setting.

    Front Installation:
A bit harder than the rear because of the smaller access areas for the sway bar bolts. But at least for the SQ5 you don't have to drop the subframe like the S4s! Don't skip step 4 to loosen the upper link, you need the play on the end link for the bottom bolt. If you don't loosen it up, the bottom bolt will hit up against a suspension component and it'll be hard to get it out of the way. Took around 2hrs because I skipped step 4 and fatigue was setting in. I also put this on the stiff setting.

    Impressions:
HOLY SHIT. This is by far the best mod, almost as good as the stage 1 034 tune. Install it on stiff front and rear! Hard right turns with the stock bars usually would have the car jostling left and right when you straighten out. With these bars, the car is flat and take off is amazing. The grip is just mega. There is also no degradation of the ride quality on dynamic. I'm lowered on MTM links and regular driving it doesn't feel any different at all in terms of ride quality.

    Bye by stock bars!

Straight forward and you will need to drop the exhaust a little bit to get the stock bar out of the way. The 034 bar was much easier to put back into place. Great feedback!! ....was hoping someone would post on their install and handling experience as I'm due to get my units next week (thanks much MOPS). Did you experiment with the settings before going full stiff? I may start Stiff at the Rear and Soft up Front and give some feedback after afterwards.

I did not experiment with other settings, I just went for it and put them full stiff. There was no downsides with both at stiff, no weird handling characteristics at all. So I'm happy with where the settings are at now.

I couldn't resist putting them on. It's a beast now. I almost felt like I was in a sedan instead of a SUV.

Nice! Did you install their end links as well or just keep the stock ones?

    Hey Guys,

Just installed the Front/Rear Sway Bars.
I’m here to confirm that they DO fit B9/B9.5 SQ5’s without Air Suspension. (I’m running KW V3’s, car is sitting very low)

I know 034 initially hadn’t had the chance to check this out, so I took the initiative to making sure they fit. They do, perfectly.

I would not recommend using the stock end links, toss those in the trash. They will also make your install a pain in the butt. At least on regular suspension SQ5’s, it’s a lot of work to try to even make them fit the sway bar. Just don’t do it.
Purchase 034’s Adjustable Dymanic+ Front/Rear billet end links and pair those up with the sway bars for an easier install+even more of a handling upgrade.
I think the stock ones would probably snap too. They really belong in the trash.

About to take her out on a spin, can’t wait to feel the difference! I went with the stiff setting in the front and rear! Amazing build quality. Go 034!

PS. Can’t believe how trashy the stock sway bars are compared to 034’s.

I just used the stock endlinks. Also to answer your question on the other thread, it was easy to do on ramps. Fronts a bit more since there’s more suspension components around the bolts. Should be doable in 3hrs with some rest in between.

The Dynamic+ Sway Bar Kit for B9/9.5 Q5/SQ5 w/ OE Air is Now Available from 034!

    Nice, thanks!

I’m glad you used stock end links, I was hoping to re-use them and not have to spend another ~$400 on top of the $800 for the bars.

Same here, 800 is steep so I didn’t want to drop another 400. Also one of them wasn’t in stock so it made my decision easier.
