    SQ5 - 0 to 60 times

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello everyone,

Just went stage 1 on my '18 SQ5 and timed my 0-60 at 4.74 sec with dragy. My car is bone stock and has no mods aside from the stage 1 tune.

Does this sound about right? What are some times you've been seeing with your SQ5?

    Thank you!

I’m stage 1, 034 ecu e85 and stage 2 034 tcu with ecs intake, full awe non res exhaust, Wagner intercooler, stock downpipe. Best 0-60 I’ve ran is 3.66 seconds in good conditions timed with my p3 gauge. She zooms.

Hadn't got any times after flashing 034's Stage 2 TCU file (with A-MAX) and adding VIS Motorsports HPFP ( I was running out of fueling up top with the stock HPFP on E85 ) so I imagine I could probably pull off something better now.

What tune do you have? The TCU tune will really help the 60’.

Don’t they offer a stage 1 Tcu tune for free with the Stage one or two ECU tune?

Yes I have the stage 1 tcu tune but the only change is the increased torque limit on the transmission. I believe it's the stage 2 TCU tune that'll make the difference.

Ahh! It will certainly make a difference. Hard to get the heavy SQ moving.

This is my 18 SQ5 Prestige at full weight, full tank of e85 on 034 Stage 1 ECU and Stage 2 TCU. The only other mod currently is the X34 Carbon Fiber Intake. I have all the parts to take it stage 2 but still have not had wrench time between work and family.

Very nice!! Do you have the ethanol sensor? No other upgrades needed for E85? I have plenty near me and it’s a lot cheaper than 93. Thanks

That does sound about right for sure, maybe a little slow as I was able to get 4.0sec stage 1 93oct with X34 intake. BUT, I converted to E85 using 034 and 0-60 in 3.5-3.7 sec consistently and that’s in the summer. Once falls here it will rip! Just convert to e85. Everyone. So much better! And to anyone new 034 is the way to go. Masters of the b9 platform.

If I knew how to post pics on here I would but tests done using draggy on country roads.

Use the app, posting pictures becomes easy.

Do you only need the tune to run E85? I have E85 near my house. When on the road, if it’s not an option, I’m guessing you need the laptop to switch tunes. Thanks!

    What app is that?

And yes! Everyone says to get an ethanol gauge but I didn’t and still don’t have one. I ran my tank down to 0 miles to e back and forth in front of the gas station near my house which coincidentally has the lowest ethanol prices in town 😊. Had zero issues. Once filled I sat idle for about 20 minutes then drove home very slow not going over 3k rpm, then tuned it. Ran it for another 10mins below 3k once tuned then gave it the beans and she delivered! Absolutely changed the car. So much more power. Mileage sucks but way cheaper than 93oct. It’s still cheaper even with the worse mileage. I’m posting a video on it soon. August autos is my channel.

Oh and no road trips over 300miles. Current range is about 320 mi. Would be longer highway driving but still. It would be a huge pita. Can’t count on finding ethanol when you’re away from home. I’m taking my other car when I go on a road trip this Monday. If it was my only vehicle I’d change back to 93 or map out where I can get it and verify they actually have it. Found the website I was using wasn’t accurate when I tried a while back.

If there’s a station by your house I’d say go for it and don’t look back. Just be careful if not using an e gauge. I’m sure someone will yell at me for saying it’s ok without but I did it. Lol

Someone told me about the app and it’s so much easier!

Thanks for the information. Doesn’t IE have a form of a flex fuel tune? They do have an E40/60 tune I believe which allows you to run between that range. I’ve heard nothing but great things about both companies. They seem to be making great headway with the B9. I do like that 034 has an SQ5 in house they work with though, not sure if IE has one or not.

We’re you tuned prior to going E85?

034 Stage 1 tune and the Tcu tune they provide. I also have Roc euro intake. I let out a fraction early. MPH and 1/4 mile would’ve been a tic faster. I also pushed thru the brakes as it was first hit and wasn’t quite ready lol. We have cooler weather coming and I plan to give it another full pull. I’m hoping for 4.2x and sub 12.50’s. I’m also adding 034 Turbo inlet, trans mount insert and the 034 lowering links. Hopefully the inlet gets me a few hp and the insert helps the shifts. Stay tuned!

2021 SQ5 APR stage 1 91 octane tune and intercooler.

    Stock: 4.8 s at 38 F w/DA of -1200F
    Tune only: 4.5 s at 55 F w/DA of +700'
Tune w/intercooler: 4.7 s at 20s/30s F w/DA of -1500' (yes, it got slower in the colder weather and hard to believe is a traction issue with good 60' times for stage 1 tune (1.8x s) plus also slower from a roll and now slower than stock - APR says NPF despite lots of testing and logging).

That definitely seems odd. Hopefully it sorts itself out but don’t see how it got slower unless they have some provisions in the tune. No idea!
