Snagged one of the last 2022 TTRS's

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This is my 5th TT and probably the last-2022 TTRS Turbo Blue! It all started with a 2011 TTS, then 2015 TTS Comp Pkg, then 2018 TTRS Nardo, then 2019 TTRS Turbo Blue, and now another and last year of production for the US (at least that the rumors) 2022 TTRS Turbo Blue. Picked it up on Friday, H&Rs installed before I got there by the dealer. Appointment for Xpel next week and full ceramic on June 21st-inside and out.

Trying to decide after the 1,000 mile break in-Unitronics or APR again. Had APR Plus on the 2019 car. It ran strong with the mild tune. Going to go with a 93 tune this time.

    Professional photoshoot to come soon.

Current: 2022 TTRS Turbo Blue, Xpel clear bra, H&R Sport Springs, ceramic coated.

Past: 2019 TTRS Turbo Blue, 2018 TTRS Nardo Grey, 2015 Audi TT S Competition Package & 2011 Audi TT S, Black on Black

Just an intercooler, intake, and flex fuel would still be a pretty potent combination. You could but wouldn’t need to run injectors.

Nice choice. Definitely one of the last, it’s confirmed to be the last year and there shouldn’t be many more arriving.

    Love the blue!

We have had a similar journey that started with the MK2. These have always been my wife's car, but that hasn't kept me from stealing it especially since she works from home lately. We went from MK2 Roaster, MK3 TT, another MK3TT, MK3TTS to MK3TTRS. The TTS was APR stage 1 93 post break in and that car came alive after that with no hardware changes. Although we were happy with the TTS, we took advantage of the car being worth more than we paid with a year on the clock and decided it was now or never of the TTRS. This was when 2021 was 'suppose' to be the last year of the TTRS in the states, but we are still happy with the build we bought. It turned out to be a managers personal order, but they suspended employee purchase discounts/programs because of the shortage so he backed away; so it had fixed wing delete and magnetic ride delete both of which are exactly how I would have ordered. The only crappy part is you don't get a credit for deleting the mag ride, so you end up paying for it regardless.

That has been getting me thinking about doing APR on the TTRS. Its definitely already fast enough, but I feel like this engine does have a little more to give. I would probably just stick to a low power stage 1. The only mod to date is switching out the OE P zeros (which would not stay balanced at all) with Michelin PS4S which def improved the ride a little, albeit at the cost of some steering precision.

The TTRS is a step up...and worth it to me. I had APR Plus, H&R springs, and Michelin PS4S on the 2019...it does wake the car up quite a bit...and the plus has warranty to match factory. It's basically a 91 Octane tune with an insurance policy on it. On the 2022, I'm going a little more with a 93 tune just not sure which I'm going to use yet? APR or Unitronics. I'm also going to do the TCU to start. Later I plan on Intercooler, and intake changes.

Oh BTW, I had the car Dyno'd and it put out 396 WHP and 417 Tq. The torque is the major difference.....you can really feel it surge forward.

Here in Jacksonville, FL we have plenty of E85 stations. IDK if I will go E85 or 93. I'm stock and drive 30 miles (one way) a day, 6 days a week and so damn ugh with the every 4th day fill ups... Especially with the high gas prices. Plus, so hate the very fast accruing mileage.

Same here in Sarasota, plenty of E85 options so I can't wait to shed my OE warranty and go tuned.

Out of curiosity, since we don’t have a ‘23 TTRS incoming, do you plan on keeping this car for a while, or are you going to move to a new platform?

I'm gonna say about 112 for the year, including the 50 Heritage cars. Yours looks fantastic -were they done in a lightbox?

I’m sticking with my TTRS for now since I just started making it faster, but I’m honestly just keeping my eyes out for the right time to pull the trigger on an R8. I’d love to order one for ‘23 next year, but I’m probably already too late; I should probably call around and see. Just can’t bring myself to pay the ADM they’re asking for for a new R8. My dealership wants $60k over. If it were pre Covid times it’d probably be a different story. But for now I’m just waiting on the market to cool off and have fun with my TTRS. Pretty impressed with the Xpel and ceramic coating, the car looks better than it did the day I picked it up. I’ve got some fun parts coming soon too so looking forward to that.

I was in the same boat, planned to go R8 or 911 right before covid but now no chance so pulled the trigger on the next best thing.

Not to steal OPs thunder, mine is getting shined up right now too :). Was lucky to find new (did pay a little adm but not too bad) but with what they are asking for used was a no brainer. I called around to some of the other dealers and they were asking $5-10k adm on non heritage.

Yes, I did get the RS with blue accents. Which carbon splitter? Only on the console.

I think you got it, the black thing up in front of your car. It’s painted though.

I got all the paint protection, ceramic coating, and window tinting stuff, now I’m just looking for a decent dashcam setup.
    Any recommendations?

I don’t know what that’s about, but that’s weird. My car is loaded and this is what I see.

Pretty sure they didn’t add in an optional carbon splitter for 2022; it’s definitely not on the website. This is a US car? Can you take a picture of the window sticker?

I spoke with an upholstery shop that does nice interiors and they said they could do it pretty easy? Haven't priced it yet....stay tuned.

As for the carbon lip, that wasn't on the order list for my car....not sure where that came from? Europe order sheet maybe?

As for the carbon lip, that wasn't on the order list for my car....not sure where that came from? Europe order sheet maybe?
    Not Europe, I’m in California.
I’ll take a picture of the window sticker later today.

Okay so, I looked at the window sticker and I don't see anything mentioning the carbon fiber front lip spoiler.
That said, my dealership is getting one more TT RS in the same exact spec as mine, and after going through a little bit more, it looks like Audi made the carbon fiber lip standard for 2022.

If you go to the audiusa listing for this TTRS I mentioned, you'll see it listed as an option. However, if you go to the dealer listing of the same car, you'll see just the black badges and RS Interior listed as paid options.

Furthermore, if you look up any 2021 TT RS, you'll see that the front lip spoiler is body coloured instead of black.

Is you dealer saying there won't be anymore after the one coming in? I keep hearing that they are cancelling orders but my dealer said they aren't? That one on order has "Tailpipe finisher: chrome"....strange.
The Audi USA build a car has: "Sport exhaust system with black tips $1,000 included?"

I could be wrong but that 2019 isn't a Black Optics car....that lip is sliver.

Here is the 2022 order guide.

That one is identical to what mine appeared as before it came in, options, price, colour, everything. I have chrome tips and a black splitter.
    Here's my window sticker.

Also, they haven't said that is the last one. They said they aren't getting any more non-random allocation. Everything else that's coming in is just due to them being the highest volume something or other, not because someone ordered it.

ALL MY22 TT RSs that were produced for the US have been distributed to dealers. 110 cars made it - 2 were lost to the Felicity Ace, and one was sold in the EU under OMSC - Military Sales. There are NO more TT RSs for the US - NO MY23 cars - Audi had already announced this and the 50 Heritage cars were the homage to this announcement.
Several 'orders' were cancelled due to lack of available materials and timing to complete for MY22.

While Black Optic was standard for all non-Heritage cars, the black-tipped Sport Exhaust was optional (0P6 $1000) - so not all cars have it - but all Heritage cars do.
As for the Titanium-colored trim - which USED to be standard, with Black Optics optional (and the Sport Exhaust too) is reserved ONLY for the Heritage cars as well as the removal of the fixed rear spoiler. NONE of the Heritage cars have the fixed rear spoiler and NONE of the rest can get rid of it as a factory option. Nor can any of the non-Heritage cars get OLED tail lamps, as they too have been reserved for only Heritage cars in MY22...

Does the 110 total include the 50 heritage cars?
