B9 S5 honeycomb front grill

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a honeycomb grill that has the piece that goes across the grill to cover the crash beam? So far I can only find B9.5 version, but B9. Thanks in advance.

Fit is very good, no parking sensor issues, covers the crashbar (though the top of the bar is still slightly visible from high angles), and has a decent camera mount bracket. It looks like you could fit the stock outer trim as well if you don't want the fully blacked-out look. It even has the protrusions on the inside for the parking sensor wire clips, it's probably the closest to OEM out of all the aftermarket options. Need to play with the camera mount though since I don't get the full FOV in wide-angle mode and the top clips seem to pop out easily. I think this one is pretty new on the market, I didn't see it when I was searching in January.

The honeycomb style was new to the A and S models for the facelift. B9.0 A/S had the old horizontal slats look.

Are you talking about an RS style replica grill? Or the actual OE B9.5 A/S model grills?

The actual B9.0 RS grill has a cover that screws to it, 8W6 807 217 A 9B9. This is different from B8, where there was just a cover that clipped to the crash bar. Some people just paint the crash bar black.

No notching needed, didn't even have to touch the foam crashbar cover. There's plenty of room between the grill and crash bar because the grille isn't set as far back as the other RS-style grilles with the letters on the bottom. This one is more in the style of the non-RS facelift grille. If you want I can get a picture of it installed.

Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing and the link. You can clean the crash bar and cover it with black vinyl to hide it. If you want. I think it looks great.

Mad Cow, that grille looks great. I contacted the eBay seller and asked if they were expecting more. They had one more in stock, so I purchased it. I just wanted to thank you for the link and pics. To me, this style looks better than the other recessed ones I’ve seen. I’m wondering if going with the rs crash bar cover would look even better, I think it has a plastic top layer with some of the hex pattern on it. I think I’ll order one and try it.

Most people wrap or spray paint the crash bar black. My car came with a grille like above. Looks like they may have wrapped the crash bar but it is coming off so I have to take the bumper off and paint the crash bar sooner than later. I would spray it before I would wrap it.

I’ve seen where most people wrap or paint the crash bar, but I want it to look closer to oem. $70 for a crash bar cover is worth it to me if it looks better.

Just cover the silver crash beam with black vinyl before you put the bumper back on.

No, the paint will flake off because it is aluminum, just wrap it.

I have the CARBNLABS grille and installed the RS5 crash bar cover, makes it look OEM def worth it.

There was some cutting/modification required for me around my camera and sensors for it to fit perfectly.IMG_7720.jpg

Been happy for with the German car accessories grill. A shop installed it though so not sure if the install was easy.
