A7 trunk wont open or close automatically

Hello All,

I am having issues with my automatic close and open feature for my trunk

Long story short, my trunk lid button to open and close the trunk automatically (interior and exterior) worked fine until my battery died. I used the emergency release inside of the trunk to open the trunk to swap out the battery, now the automictic closing and opening feature does not work anymore. When i hit the trunk button on the fob, or the switch on the driver door it will pop open just not open all the way automatically and the close button under the trunk lid doesnt work. Any input is appreciated. 2012 A7

I'd check the manual for a reset instructions.

Check the glove box that your valet button wasn't activated. In valet mode, the trunk doesn't open.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm having basically the same issue on my 2012 A7. I swapped in a new battery and now the trunk motor doesn't engage to open or close the lid. When I push the button, inside the car or on the lid itself, I hear the latch undo but no motor.

I've checked fuses & found nothing blown.

Any help would be really appreciated!
