    Abt lowering springs

I have a 2019 SQ5 and want to put these on. I’m going to have a shop do the install. I’m wondering what to have them set it at, as I’m sure they don’t want me to have them set it 10 times so I can figure out the best height.

I’m looking for a more aggressive stance, better cornering, but still maintain daily driver comfort as much as possible.

Is it easy to adjust at home? And what do you have yours set at?

There are a few of us on here with the ABT H.A.S. kit, some are all the way down and other like me are about 1/3 from the bottom.

The spring travel is the same no matter where the adjuster is set to, but your suspension geometry will be different depending on ride height. Definitely get a fresh alignment after install.

For reference the fender is now at 30 3/4" from ground at all 4 corners on my 18 SQ5, it was 32 5/8' from factory in front.

    Abt lowering springs

I had my shop set them as low as they would go and not rub.

Just let them know that in the rear they might still have to use the original leveling bars as the adjustable ones that ABT provides tend to be too short.

The last time I measured (about a week after the install) the front wheel arch is at 29 1/2” and the rear is at 30 1/8”.

On a similar subject, have been thinking about H&R sport or super sport lowering springs for my 22 SQ5, but have heard murmurings that this would possibly void suspension warranty (bought all the extended warranties other than wheel and tire). Anyone had problems with dealers and aftermarket springs???

Thanks to everyone contributing to this thread, I am also planning on getting the abt has kit installed in about a month so this is great timing.

If anyone else has pictures showing their drops I'd really appreciate it.

if you had a suspension issue I am sure Audi service would challenge you on covering under warranty, my CPO goes to 4/23/2023 and I am rolling the dice.....

A few months ago I had the ABT kit installed on my 2020 Q5 2.0. It had approx a 2 1/2" drop. The ride was a little stiff but the main problem was hitting the bump stops----a real jolt. Mops recommended raising
20 mm. Had my installer raise the 15mm that Mops recommended. Problem solved. A good ride & no more jolts.
The adjustment took about 1 1/2 hours and $150. Definitely not a do-it-yourself job.

Wow thanks for all the info guys! More than I expected and all super valuable. If anyone wants to share pics please do! Would love to see as many as possible. Rcprato im especially interested to see yours if possible as I’m thinking I’d want to lower mine like you did. Maybe 1/4-1-3 to bottom. I don’t want to hit those bump stops as I live in Michigan and there are more potholes than cars on the road.

One more question, I’m going to upgrade my wheels to 20x10 soon. Will this effect what I should set the springs at? I’m already on 20s so it’s just a wider wheel.

Are those 20” or 21” wheels?

I think that’s what I’m going to do. Looks really nice. It’s evenly spaced all the way around the wheel well.

Can anyone comment on performance? Did this improve handling much or just a firmer ride?

Improved handling comes from the firmer ride the ABT springs

New to the Audi world but not to modifying cars. Any issues with error codes or headlight leveling?

No error codes but headlights are aimed low, I need longer links in back to get sensor back to correct ride height position.

I’m on OE links both front and back. Zero issues so far.

Love the look of this and what I'm going for once I get the springs. Can you tell me the exact lowering height here?
