    2023 S6/S7

    Morning all!

I had a '22 S6 on order which was recently changed to a '23 via my dealer due to supply chain issues and the new MY being announced. After looking at the new images it appears that the '23 S6/S7 will come with the flat bottom steering wheel again. I'm not sure if that is part of the "design package" or not. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

I am just amazed about the supply chain issues for automobiles. How do you feel about the delay? If I may ask, did you pay over MSRP?

My sister and her husband bought a new Ford Bronco in January and were told delivery would happen in a few months. They ended up getting their Bronco in May (not too bad of a delay) but they paid MSRP--their Ford dealer was pretty good about *not* marking the vehicle up.

I have read that the flat bottom steering wheel is standard on the '23 models. When did you put in your order for the S6?

I ordered a 2022 S7 in February and was told it should come in July (seems a little unrealistic) but keeping my fingers crossed. I haven't heard anything yet about it being converted to '23.

Did your dealer give you the option to change your options now to add in the Design Package?

My 2022 S6 order was converted to 2023 model year as well. I believe the flat bottom steering wheel is only part of the Design Edition package.

Paying MSRP for the '23 S6. It certainly is an interesting time right now.

The initial order for the '22 S6 was put in this January. I put my deposit down on the car in the beginning of April. Dealer gave me a call and said it was being pushed to a 2023 MY. Initially the '22 S6 was scheduled for a June/July delivery. The dealer has been helpful and I was able to change options on the vehicle. Prestige, Daytona Grey, S Sport Package, Black Optic Package. Supposedly production will be starting the first few weeks of June on these vehicles. We will see if it ends up getting delayed further.

I am in the same situation. I have a copy of the Canadian order guide for the 2023 MY S7. The only thing it says about the steering wheel is “Heated, 3-spoke steering wheel w/ shift paddles”. Nothing about it being the flat bottom.

From what I saw the ones with the flat bottom steering wheel were the "EU Spec" versions.

A MY2023 car should be a July/August build. June would normally be the end of the 2022MY

Does anyone know how to track the ocean vessel via the vin #? I have a S6 supposedly due in to the dealer the last 2 weeks of this month.

I think you will have to track it by ship. Based on where your car is being delivered, where it was built, and the timetable.

This is a ship that went from East Coast US to the German port about a month ago. I was following it before my '22 got delayed :) Basically you need to lookup which boats bring VAG cars from Germany to the USA. I forget what site I used to get this specific boats information. It was a little bit of research and is still kind of a crap shoot. Now I am "waiting patiently".

The dealer will not know the ship name, but they will have the voyage number. With that you can look at the ship list for VAG products and find the ship name as well as the port schedule. From there marinetracking.com will be able to show you where the ship is and when it actually arrives in port.

Just got an update from my dealer. Looking like production week 3622. Which means early September production. Figured this may or may not be helpful for anyone else waiting!

Glad to hear you were assigned a production week. Still haven't received a production week for my order.
Were you able to see an updated pricing sheet with the Design Edition package?

I wasn't able to see a pricing guide for MY '23, only the build sheet. However I believe the Design Edition package was $2,500 if I'm not mistaken.
