Any SQ7 owners on here? Looking to go up a size from SQ5 !!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Starting looking around / thinking about a larger vehicle as the family is growing. I've been a happy camper in my sq5 for last 3 years, but willing to go up a size or two in near future.

Currently considering X7 m50i VS SQ7. Anybody compare those two back to back? Are you happy with the SQ7 and driving dynamics? Willing to hear all pros and cons . Also - seems to be a fairly RARE car on the used car market, more so then the X7s.

Looking forward to any and all feedback.

    Thanks!

Do it now while you can still flog that 500hp V8. It'll take just about anything off the line, while your family, dog and all your crap fits in too.

Had a SQ5 loved that car, when baby #2 came we got a 19 Q7. Was really happy with the room and the looks just missed the power and handling of the SQ5. Just picked up a 21 SQ7 and all I can say is wow. its definitely my favorite car I've owned.

SQ7 all the way. Then get the APR tune and you’ll never look back.

    Hey Bros,

    What'up? Loved GIAC ST2SP SQ5->APR ST2SP Q7->GLS550 ST1(559Horsies/650torquies). Life 4ringer, but Benz betta???

Large tribe, using Benz for summer long tripping, Q7 as fav snow/wintermobile. Benz had 3rd row A/C which was a must for us. More room/visibility also.
Again, both are great and like them both a lot, for different reasons.
    IMHO

    Cheers,

    Bob

PS: when we outgrew SQ5 for a 2nd 3 rows veh, Benz was about 5k$ over a similar Prestige Q7(never tried the SQ7,just needed more space), before all this craziness. Now it's just insane.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

Ended up looking at X5, and Lincoln Aviator more in depth. Liked the longer sizing of the Aviator (same as Q7/SQ7).

At end of day, nothing matches the quality of the Audi - so currently switching my search to a SQ7 as it's a great all in one package.

Searching for a preowned private owner SQ7. If anyone thinking of selling, please ping me.

SQ7 is the best car I've ever owned. I've had a 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo....several BMWs Nissan GTR etc etc.

The versatility and room is a world beater. Drives small and is smoking fast. Car and Driver tested 3.5 sec 0-60.
They are understating the power of this beast.

Got to drive one for the first time last night. Car felt tighter and smaller then I expected. Very very quick and torquey for something that size. It almost felt like a slightly larger / reworked muscle car, rather than an amped up Q7. Seating position is also not as commanding as some of the other SUVs I've driven (for good and bad). Driving this it definitely felt like you are driving IN the car, vs ON the car like some other SUVs of this size can be.

Pretty interesting. Definitely one of its kind for the quality / room / speed that it offers - in a very reasonable price range vs some of other competitors (M and AMG cars).

On the virtual Cockpit screens can you go to round tach and speedo? or in the SQ7 can you only have the "bar" style for the tach readings?

Round speedo and tach are the default. You can set it to the hockey stick in the MMI. I tried it and, for me, it was way too counterintuitive. Went back to old school quickly.

I had to leave mine on the "hockey stick". The date on the round speedo and tach was missing the day of the week, and I couldn't find the boost gauge anywhere. I get both with the "hockey stick".
