    B9 S5 034 TCU tune - stage 2 vs stage 1 worth it?

    Hi guys.
Just bought my S5 sportback and am thinking about getting the 034 ECU tune along with the TCU tune. Stage1 TCU is included for free but the stage 2 is $650. My understanding is stage 1 TCU tune pretty much makes the transmission safe to handle the extra torque. Stage 2 actually makes the shift faster some other things. My question is, for those who have it, did you notice a significant enough difference that justifies the $650?

Stage 2 TCU is going to provide a quite significant difference in terms of the drivability and performance of your S5!

I'd recommend checking out some of our user reviews:

I had the same question when I switched over to 034 from Unitronics. I went forward with the stage 2 tcu and am very glad that I did. It allows for another level of driving dynamics that was not found in the stock or stage 1. I actually flashed stage 1 tcu when I did the stage 1 ecu just so I could get use to the power delivery difference. After a week I flashed the stage 2 tcu and I have not gone back. The shifts are direct and quick. There is a nice improvement even in D when driving on the highway. There have been no times where I questioned the tcu logic as it makes a perfect shift at any interval. I feel like it very similar in dynamics to the ZF programming from BMW in their sporty offerings. Just to note, I had no issues with Unitronic but the additional torque and features from 034 is ultimately what caused my move.
