I know of several dealers that will sell you an ordered one at MSRP, unfortunately none of them on on the West Coast. I would imagine 12ish month wait time, but it is a total crap shoot.

I was told more than 12 months. I pulled my deposit (but I already have one, so I'm not really out much)

    Best of luck!

What are the specs? Have window sticker to share? Where are you located?

I may have a couple buddies who are interested.

In another thread he said Mythos black with black optics, but I don’t know much else.

ADM is common (maybe near-universal in your state with a few exceptions I've seen on here) but MSRP is out there if you look around, esp. out of state. I ordered end of July 2021 (started out 3rd on the waiting list), order accepted end of January 2022, out of production early March and in transport phase now. All said and done will be about 9 months start to finish, but that was before the Ukraine..... if you're hearing 12+ month quotes that seems within the realm of possibility but sooner is still possible.

Thing is, dealers can only guess how long it will be. There are no more orders for 2022, and 2023 allocations are months away.

My best suggestion is, call dealers within the radius you're willing to purchase. Discuss their willingness to sell at MSRP and deposit requirements. Then see if you can get a sense for where you are on their waiting list; some will tell you honestly. When you find a combination of responses you can live with, accept and place a deposit. Also monitor these forums for allocation announcements.

    Good luck!

There will be one less person scouring the web for the elusive and rare North American super wagon (think of that said by David Attenborough while standing in a nondescript Audi new car lot broadcast on an old CRT picture tube TVs. Then, the camera pans right, bringing into view an RS6 in the exact spec I ordered - but I digress).

I asked the sales rep through who I ordered my RS6 that is due to arrive in July what the purchase price will be and it looks like I'll be paying MSRP. At least that's what he sent over when I asked last night. This means I won't be trying to find not only the car I want already on a lot, but at a "normal" price. I suppose the dealership could jerk my chain once if finally gets here, but going to stay positive. I've got a card or two up my sleeve that might prevent that happening, one of which involves using a rather bummer of a health situation to guilt them (yeah, I know, they won't care). I'm not above using it to my advantage.

There are quite a few stealerships out there really taking advantage of customers, as others have pointed out. Here's my story. There was a perfectly spec'd beauty supposedly sitting on a lot up in the Bay Area. So I message the dealership to find out if it was a another example of the Audiusa.com's screwed way of showing cars as being on lots, despite then being sold already. Sales rep called me a few minutes later and told me that he'd originally had two of these unicorns on his lot. The first one was sold to a guy who's part of the local casino ownership group. As soon as he got home, his brother saw the car, got jealous, drove straight to the speakership and bought the other one. How does this apply to the topic of the thread? Both cars were sold for $40k over MSRP!

Oh, then there is the USED 2022 Sebring Black RS6 at another Bay Area lot listed for $20k over MSRP! Spoke to the sales rep and got the story. One of his customers ordered a Porsche Cayenne that was going to take several months to build. However, said customer needed something to tool around in while waiting for the Porsche to arrive. So he bought the Sebring RS6, put nearly 5k miles on it, before trading it in for the Cayenne.OK, all well and good, but the dealership then turning around and selling a clearly used car for far over the original MSRP! Ridiculous!

What galls me about the dealerships doing this is the rarity of the RS6 (and other models I'm sure) is not solely being driven by demand. Rather, its the inability of the Audi to build them due to lack of parts. In other words, the rarity is in part due to the failure of the brand and not overwhelming demand. The customer is then made to pay the price (pun intended). Of course, thanks to the way the auto industry is structured, stealerships are free to sell their inventory at any price point they want. This is one area Tesla has clearly gotten it right.

    OK, I'm done ranting.

I placed my deposit with Audi Bellingham (North WA state) about a month ago. Very straightforward process. Price is MSRP plus a few hundred bucks for this and that. $3k deposit at time of "building your car" and getting waitlisted, additional $2k due once order is accepted.

    And now I wait....

It is frustrating - but unfortunately common these days. I've been looking at an S580 as well and dealers want $7-$10k above MSRP with 5-10k miles.

It sucks but supply and demand, I told the wife since i don’t drive mine I should take one of the offers I’ve had but for me I have a number in my head. I’ve got less than 5k on it with a full stealth wrap and wheels and a few other things. With it being a 21 and the one year in the navarra(unless for some reason you order exclusive in this color) I feel it’s a little more unique. Don’t get me wrong exclusive colors take the rarity but for me unless my number is hit it doesn’t make sense to sell it. Seeing what some of the guys here have sold theirs for my number doesn’t seem unreasonable but everyone has their own value for these things. Seeing cars go for 50k+ over sticker still shocks me but some people find it worth it.

Thanks! I'm up in the Stanwood area. None of the South end dealers wanted to play ball. We'll see if this one becomes a reality.

I ordered mine at Audi Chantilly at MSRP in February. John K. was the salesman who helped me.

Sometimes the waiting time doesn't matter much, especially if you are confident that they will deliver your car in a good state. Also, if you are from the west coast and don't care too much about delivery terms, I can suggest a good car service that delivers across all states from other countries, including Japan. I ordered a new Mitsubishi, the newest model from them, and the delivery time was less than 6 months from Japan. Here's the link jdmbuysell.com. If you get any questions about the papers and other details, feel free to reach me in private messages.

I would say that you should scour the used listings. I've had one waitlisted since March (not long compared to many). Down in Florida, everything here is going for wayyy over sticker. Audi West Palm Beach recently sold a new one for 100k over MSRP (WTF, and they wanted to buy mine when I came in for help with key user). Another used dealer in Delray Beach (HGREG) sold one for 50k over sticker (again, WTF?).

However, I got lucky and found a used gem up in Marietta, GA through a small mom and pop dealership...Sebring Black '21 with pretty much everything I wanted on it regarding factory options. 11,800 miles and mint with 5 years of Audi Care, and the engine was stock. They advertised for just under sticker, and I was the first to inquire...I wired them a deposit and picked it up a week later when I was back from travelling for biz.

I think if you keep your eye on listings, you may get lucky on a used model to tide you over if you still want to get that new RS6. Me personally, I will probably just resell the new RS when I get it, if I keep the allocation. I've already gone Stage 1+ Unitronic with Eventuri and frankly my kids would organize a coup d'etat if I changed out to a '23 with all the stomach butterflies the current RS6 provides.
