    Body kit "rs5 2020 look" should fit A5 b9 spb of 2018?

    Hi guys,
I am finding some "original look" bodykit to change the style of my A5 b9 sportback 2.0 tfsi quattro of late 2018.
I don't have a sline exterior and I want to give more "style" to the exterior.

I am finding on the web some bodykit of rs5-look and I found this one of the rs5 of 2020.

Should front and rear bumpers of the rs5 of 2020 fit on my car?

Thank you very much for any infos about the fitment.

2020 should be facelift, your 2018 should not be. I would be cautious of assuming original and facelift exterior components should be compatible.

Additionally, the RS bumpers are likely designed to mate to the wider fenders of the RS, and might not match up to the A/S bodies.

What do you mean with "facelift"?

The kit is not an original rs5, but a "replica, for the "thinner" normal A5.

If you look at the model year in the screenshot you posted. It shows 2020-2022.. That's the face lift version aka the B9.5. The 2018 A5 is the B9, the front end is different between the two versions.

Oh, here in ITA we call it "restyle". But as I know they change only bumpers and headlights in the exterior, but didn't change any type of "dimensions" of the parts. As in the previous facelift on b8.5 and b8 you should swap the bumpers for example, right?

They're not drastically different but the front end dimensions and proportions have been changed significantly enough that B9 RS5 and B9.5 RS5 front end body and bumper components are not compatible. Meaning that an B9 A5 to B9.5 RS5 compatibility is even more unlikely..

Oh, I was simply responding to what you had typed, "Should front and rear bumpers of the rs5 of 2020 fit on my car?". The answer would be not likely. But a "RS style" retrofit kit made for the A/S models, sure, since that's the point of the kit.

facelift, restyle, ".5", "product improvement" (the Audi term), GP1 (the PR code), all the same concept.

As for B9.0 vs B9.5, there's always some internal changes. But it's anyone's guess until someone takes both cars and sits them next to each other and confirms just how much has to transfer from a B9.5 to a B9.0 to make the B9.0 bumper cover work. The headlights and the hood were involved in the swap of a B8.5 to B8.0; no idea if the B9 version is as extensive.

I don't believe it will fit your car. The listing should have put B9.5 instead of B9, and if you read the details it shows minimum 2020 model, which is when the B9.5 (facelift) started.

Yes overall they might be very similar dimensions, but it probably isn't a direct fit, because the headlight shape is slightly different, hood is slightly different, and the grille size and dimensions are different, so there will be different mounting points and stuff that won't line up, it won't be a direct fit. I'd just search for another kit that's specifically for the B9 (2017-2019) so you get worry free fitment.

Also I don't know of anyone that has swapped the B9.5 facelift bumper onto their B9 pre-facelift, so I assume it's not possible that easily and is more involved like the B8 to B8.5 was, otherwise I'm sure we'd have seen some upgraded swaps already.

Thank you guys for the infos.
Can we said the same things for the rear bumper? Because I can mix the kit with the rear new bumper and a "old" front rs5 look bumper.
I say this because I say this because i can't find a b9 (2016-2019) kit with rear bumper, only the front.

Thank you however for the precious infos.

Looks like the hood is not a changed component for the B9 facelift, like it was for the B8 facelift. B9.0 and B9.5 A5/S5/RS5 all use the same hood part number, 8W6 823 029.

But from the image posted above, the headlights do look like they are differently shaped, to accommodate the widened grill. So going to need to change those.

For the rear, hard to say. Doesn't seem the quarter panel changed, but the rear crash bar is a different part rev for GP1 (product improvement 1, facelift, whatever). The fastening at the edges seem similar, but the closing element of the bumper cover is clearly different.
