Oled Tail Light Retrofit on Q5 SportBack 2022

hello everyone,

I was able to retrofit the Oled tailight on my Q5 2022 Sportback, basic functions are working without the need of parametrization.
However, VCP just released the dataset, i will try it next week. I have added the coding below each picture.
i also uploaded a video comparing both tail lights (oled vs led)

NB: To retrofit EURO oled it requires 2 additional wires to the bcm 46 and also parameterization via VCP

you need to change the connectors to 8W0 971 636 D for US specs & 8W0 970 636 B for Euro specs

To activate [46] -> Byte 36 -> Bit 4 : 1 & Bit 5: 1

Here are the wiring diagrams for retrofitting the EURO Oled/LED, i have circled the additional wire that needs to be added to separate the turn signal / brake light.. Thats only needed if Euro lights are installed in a US specs car

Did you source the OLED’s at your local dealer? Or overseas? Are they essentially the same thing with the addition of the 2 wires and different connector?

They are essentially the same thing except for the connectors. The 2 wires are only needed if you want to put Euro tail lights, but it will also require to upload a dataset using vcp.

However, the swap is straight forward for US Led to US Oled or Euro Led to Euro Oled without the need of dataset.

On the downside, when i change the mode in audi drive select the tail lights dont change, and the proximity approach doesnt work yet, (havent figured out the coding)

But the good thing, the animations work for coming/leaving home :)

When changing drive select modes how do the tail lights change? Same as SQ5 tails? Odd question, but do these fit previous 2018 models? Such a cool change

Yes it can be done on 2021/2022 & now 2023.

i haven't figured out how to change it using the drive select however, by activating Byte 36 => Bit 4, Bit 5, Bit, 6 & Bit 7 the dynamic signature will be on, as shown on the video

Why wouldn’t it be? The Prestige trims had the OLED tail lights for ‘21.

I thought there might be hardware differences other than the light bodies themselves.
