2021 Audi Q7 OEM hitch installed and SQ7 looks

Just wanted to shine some light on OEM hitch kit (4M0092115B) installation for 2021 Audi Q7 models, since I couldn’t find any info when I was doing my own research. I end-up buying hitch kit from Audi dealer and I’m glad I didn’t go with aftermarket or a used hitch. OEM hitch kit came with the hitch, wring harness, module, socket, bolts, kick to open sensor frame and codes to program to the vehicle. ODIS software is a must! Lower valance is not included in the kit. Original valance needs to be cut. Installation manual shows where and how to cut it.
In my case, I ordered complete lower bumper valance from Audi SQ7 with hitch cut-out already. Hitch installation was very simple and easy, especially because my Q7 had hitch preparation option from the factory. Option code (1D8). If you don’t have hitch preparation (1D0), then you have to run wires from the hitch to the hitch module and from the hitch module to the fuse box and comfort convenience module ( wiring harness included). The only thing what kit is missing is two foam inserts between 4 hitch bolts and inner side of bumper cover.
After hitch installation, I hooked up ODIS, entered activation codes, PIN ( comes with hitch kit and can be used only once) and downloaded hitch module software. Lots of modules needed be recoded. ODID software does that for you. Cluster, Comfort Convenience, Vehicle Electrical System Module, Distance Regulation (1&2), and more. Hope it helps if anyone is looking for info.

    Questions

Why did you go the ODIS route and not the VCDS route?
