    Valve Master Titanium exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Anyone else try this exhaust?

    https://valvemaster.ca/collections/m...41123700441274

Has resonators = excellent. Does not work with OEM valves, not sure about that. Is valve actuation still an issue (loss of torque) when tuned?

The price vs Akra or BoostLogic is much better.

I'd be curious about drone, thats usually my deal breaker. Otherwise it looks beautiful.

It's legit the same kit that's out there from a bunch of other vendors. It's basically the same kit I have on my TT RS. It's lightweight and pretty but, it drones something fierce at times. They will all fiercely claim that their kit is unique and that no one else is selling it, etc., etc. It's the same damn kit. They are ALL made in China. Despite that, I like my exhaust just fine and there were no quality issues that were readily apparent to myself or to the shops that have seen it first hand.

The mid pipe resonators don't help much? Drone is no fun if it can be avoided. Same drone with valves open or closed?

Mine did not have an option for a resonator but, I also don't have a conventional mid-pipe, per se. So it wouldn't have been an option for me either way. When the valves are closed and you're driving around like a normal person, it's perfectly fine with very little drone. One thing they don't readily tell you, however, is how the valves work. You can absolutely extend your valve harness to meet up with the valve actuators on this kit, which I intend to do. However, it comes with this box, a dongle, lots of wires and a remote to actuate the valve manually. I would caution you to not trust that remote and to tie it into your factory valve harness. You'll need the actuator and spring from your stock exhaust to make it work. I have only accelerated hard once while the valves were closed and it let out a sound that did not strike me as healthy for the vehicle. I have since opted to keep the valves open all the time except for cold starts. Once my car gets back from RSP, one of the first things I'm going to do is fix that valve situation.

The tips and the piping at the end can be tilted to give you clearance. That's what I did on mine. I think I opted for about 1/2-3/4" gap from my valance.

I spoke to them a few weeks again prior to release and was going to promo the system. Here's some info... in the end I decided to stick with my Remus setup.

Regular resonators dont silence drone.. speaking from experience. You need a Helmholtz resonator or something like the Corsa RSC muffler in there to wipe it out.

While I would agree with you that it should not be in the same conversation as Akrapovic and Boost Logic, it isn't what I would call trash. I've seen some trashy exhaust setups in my time and while this doesn't scream quality, it certainly suffices the point. I am surprised, however, at the quality of the aftermarket exhaust setups for these vehicles in general; barring the aforementioned brands.

Is there anyone making a titanium exhaust that uses the proper Helmholtz design along with the OEM valve system?

From feedback here the BL has drone and the Akra is unobtanium now.

At this point the price isn't the issue, it's just finding a properly designed unit that won't blow your eardrums out. It's the weight savings part that I'm looking for.

I contacted Unobtanium Welding in Canada and they would be willing to prototype one using Corsa RSC universal 3" in/out mufflers and then titanium piping/resonators throughout otherwise, but they need a car locally to build jigs and develop it. Price would be near $6k in titanium. Zero drone, very lightweight, albeit a touch heavier than BL due to the stainless Corsa mufflers. I have a single Corsa 3" RSC muffler on my Escalade 6.2 that has a stock muffler delete and flapper and resonator delete too. It went from unbearable helicopter chop to ZERO drone at all and half the volume, all from the RSC muffler. Pretty incredible, and its straight through.

    https://www.unobtainium.ca/

If one person got it prototyped, they could make jigs and produce them en masse for us.

I also spoke with BL about incorporating a drone solution and they are considering it but they have 20+ projects ahead of that idea.

Slightly louder sound (not going to say better), 30lbs in weight savings and bragging rights that you have a titanium exhaust for $6,000? What am I missing?

Nothing too magical about Hemholtz design, titanium pipe is not that much. It'll be the skill of the welder/labor that should be the cost.

Would be nice to have someone in the states, or even So Cal (I could offer my TT RS for proto) to consider a build.

Preference for sound, weight savings (minor), looks, etc. A lot of dough. Some people have the bankroll to support it, some dont or choose not to spend that much for what you get. To each their own. Frankly I'd rather have inconel than Ti.

They had one left, I'm not sure on status now. Hit them up.

Not Ti but very well built and sounds really good in my opinion.

Remus non-resonated CB along with their Mid pipes.

I've got them paired up with an ASR exhaust controller and Uni DP. I'm pleased with this set-up and I'm picky on exhaust notes my last Audi I went through 3 systems.

If some of you are TTRS I'd suggest JJT Performance, owner is a ttrs owner and enthusiast for several years, I believe will be making a RS3 model as well. That is the exhaust I am getting in TI. Probably one of the best flowing and largest diameter tubing out there in valved format. Lot of R&D went into it.

Resonator section is the OEM Audi Sport section, just setup to clamp to the Ti muffler with a ball joint. Nice grab! These are getting rare. Any sound clips? Do you have 2nd cats deleted?

You're not kidding... I run the AWE V2 Switch-Path and it's not the finest material for the amount of money they charge. Had it not have come with the purchase of the vehicle, I wouldn't personally spend my money.

I really like this exhaust system. It's the finest of the finest chinesium but I might give it a shot?

Hey he's saying the final finish should be ready fairly soon, so I'm hoping by end of this month, or early next month for it myself.
