SQ5 TDI - what kind of Quattro?

Hey everyone - new to this forum from Sydney, Australia.

I’ve ordered an SQ5 TDI in quantum grey, optioned with the all-important adaptive air suspension, carbon fibre trim and black design pack. Estimated arrival is currently May. Can’t wait!!

One thing I can’t figure out is whether the SQ5 runs an ultra system, or if it’s a traditional Quattro set-up. Anyone know?

So the Donut guys just did a video on this actually - link below. My understanding is from the video is that the “S” versions don’t have the ultra system and run a more traditional Quattro. I’m not sure how this applies to Australia or the TDI setup though, apologies for the unclear answer.

All Audi S & RS models still use 'regular' quattro. In this case it's a center torsen diff with 40:60 F/R torque split that's been used since the B7 RS4. Before that, it was 50:50 split torsen center diff. Since you have air suspension, you also have the sport diff on the rear axle that can vector torque to each side. It's always on and transfers torque back and forth mechanically.

Quattro with 'ultra' can completely disconnect the drive shaft to the rear for better economy. This uses a clutch at the back of the transmission, and in the passenger side rear axle there's another claw-clutch.

I'm very happy to have 'regular' quattro on the SQ5.

SQ5 TDI - what kind of Quattro?

The S3, TT, TTS, RS3 and TTRS are all MQB cars and use the same Haldex system as the Golf R- they are 100% front wheel drive until the car detects a loss of traction and can send up to 50% of the power to the rear wheels.

The RS3 and TTRS are programmed more aggressively.

sport diff and air suspension were two different add-ons on the B9s - I could have ordered one and not the other if I so desired. His might be different since it's a TDI?

I have a '20 SQ5 TDI and it was then introduced with the classic Quattro system. So it has a 40/60 distribution.
Non S models have 50/50 distribution.

In europe we don't have the same option packs. Options came separately so not a lot Euro SQ5's running sport diff and air suspension.
Don't really know what te big difference is with the sport diff since there were no SQ5's available for a test with full spec
