    18" APEX SM-10's on my 2020 RS3

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just posting my finally pieced together wheel setup. Running APEX SM-10 18x9 ET42 5x112 57.1CB, squared setup in Satin Bronze. Zero rub, even in full turns. I am also running 034M lowering springs. Tires are MSP4S 255/35/18.

Stock RS3 wheels weigh 28.5 lbs (give or take half for the staggered rears). New wheels clock in at 21 lbs even. in total, 28lbs of unsprung weight removed.

Car handling, acceleration and control feel improved. Acceleration isn't a big different but it feels like it responds much quicker to hard acceleration, overall feels like it handles launches better.

I'm making the post because when I was searching for the perfect wheel for months, I found so many helpful forum posts. I'm hoping that even if this dies, if it's ever searched, someone will find it helpful!

Ya tire size is very important and I'd like to know what you've fitted it with. Our 2019 RS 3 now at 33,109 miles of which 23,839 have been fast country back road runs between 10am and 2pm Tues, Weds and Thurs only as weather permits. Our tire size after quite a bit of testing are currently Michelin A/S3+ 245/40/18 which have survived many poor back road conditions. Have Michelin 245/40/18 Pilot Sport 4S All Weather going on very soon as the A/S3+ are just about through. Been running country back roads for many years (since 1958) and now at age 82 with what I feel is the best vehicle I've had over these many years of such driving. Great machine indeed!

awesome choice. I considered Apex, unfortunately the SM-10 was too narrow for my application. I was looking at the EC-7R in 18x10.5, advertised as Supra fitment (mk5 supra also runs 5x112 bolt pattern), but ultimately I went with a set of Titan 7's as they are the same weight, for just a bit more width (10.5" Apex vs 10.7" Titan7).

Thanks for posting. For those looking into purchasing wheels, good pictures are worth a thousand words. Plus, info like the actual real life weight of the wheel, detailed specs, whether car is lowered and running degrees of neg camber, issues with rubbing, etc. are all invaluable. Thanks again!

I pieced everything together from different vendors utilizing free shipping when I could. Total was 3400 installed.

    Wheels were 1615.00 - TPMS sensors were 165.00 - Tires were 1200.00~

This is exactly what I was looking for! Just got a nardo grey 2017 RS3 and the prior owner had it on bronze 20” Vossen HF-3s. Although I loved the bronze/grey combo, I wanted to get into an 18” setup. Never thought I’d be trying to get smaller rims. 😂 thanks so much for the detailed specs. I’m going to go with the same 034 springs and apex rims. Do you think I could squeeze 255/40/18 with that setup? Thanks again!

Well done sir . Thanks for the information. What kind of differences did you notice switching to higher profile? I'd imagine the front is alot more compliant on road separation and small undulations.

Love APEX wheels, they are strong, lightweight, and developed and then track-tested by enthusiasts (coming from the BMW world).

A bit better ride quality, but definitely a huge improvement to durability. I blew out 2 PZero's driving in Baltimore, I've been on MSPS for over 8 months without a single issue. The unsprung weight felt like a big difference. Smoother, just a bit quicker to accelerate and really nice in the turns.

I was told that 35 was the ideal wheel wall size to match the existing wheel dimensions, but you could easily squeeze the tire in, it wouldn't be a fitment issue.
