Power Stop Z23 Brake Kit experience?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking at buying the below power stop kit along with with stainless lines. The car is in need of pads/rotors anyway and figured the powder coated calipers would be nice at the same time. Does anyone have any experience with these or Power Stop products in general?

    Thanks!

Great bang for the buck. I've used these kits, on a variety of platforms. All with great success

I've had my set on about two years now, I recommend them if you want an improvement on OEM but close to OEM prices. I do lots of spirited twisty road driving and was boiling my stock brakes out when I first got the car. The car definitely stops better and the brakes fade less quickly now. I have heard a few bad things about Powerstop's cheapest plain OE rotors on here, but I've had the drilled and slotted rotors with z23 pads and z26 pads and they are great in my opinion, all things considered.

There is no doubt they are a good option for brakes, but they are at their best in non salt/ winter environments. there metallurgy i would consider substandard to OEM and even the corrosion resistant ones do not do well. After 2 years the rotors are completely done on the power stop rotors on my sons car and even the rotor face is showing deep corrosion issues. . So just be aware

I have almost no salt and mild winters here in Tennessee, so that's probably why mine are holding up so well. Makes sense!

Pads are decent, rotors..ehh. Calipers have poor coating on them.,painted, not powder coat. Seen their calipers rust in a year or so, in bad weather areas. Same with their rotors.

I did not have a good experience at all:

But we live in a salt riddled area.

So my theory is sound ... Good for no salt area, but they struggle badly in salt regions.
    Buyer beware I guess.

I rem reading your post. Thats actually one I rem clearly about the paint being garbage. Even my own paint job on my Macan calipers is holding up 10x better, lol. Got some chips and stuff, but still look good. And thats after 2 or 3 years in PA..

Tomato paste cooked on would yield better results than the powerstop coating.
