The car is out of warranty and never going back to the dealer. Does anyone have advice on how to reset the “inspection due”? (Not the oil service reset). Thanks!

You need a scan tool like Carista, OBDeleven, VCDS, etc.

ShopDAP just did a video on the Mk8 GTI where he was able to do it from the digital cockpit through a secret menu, maybe reach out and see if he knows a similar one for this platform.

Scan tool. Got it. I bought one to release the rear brakes to change pads. I’ll plug it in and see what I can do. I’ll report back.

You can reset the inspection due or the service due through the MMI, but not both. But the apps in OBD11 allow you to do both painlessly.

Used a cheap “VAGcom” tool from Amazon that I bought to release the rear brakes for pad changes. It cleared the “inspection” in minutes. All good.
