Question Anyone use or know anything about "Rocketchip" Performance Chips?

Seems too good to be true for a performance tune gaining HP, Torque and throttle response for only $100 and just plug and play. However, I've not read anything yet that suggests anyone having a bad experience.

I'm skeptical. Any 3rd party dyno runs?

When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. They say money-back guarantee, but I'm betting they give you the ole run-around and you end up with an OBDII plug with some LEDs in it and you're out $100.
If you've ever tuned one of these cars, you need an adapter that's bigger than that one just to connect it to a computer, then, you need special software to write the new tune to the ECU. I don't know how this chip could be doing anything.

Personally I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 ft pole. Generic statements about functionality that clearly just copy and paste the manufacturer name in there. I'm not even sure what it would do through the OBD port, may not even do anything lol. It isn't writing anything to the ECU and isn't manipulating signals via a tune box, I'm guessing it just lights up and that's it.

Even the other tuning boxes out there need to connect to the vehicle sensors to manipulate the data. I don't even like those because the car is not getting good data and you are basically relying on the o2 sensors to determine your fueling.

Stay far away from that thing though for sure. There are a lot of good tune options at reasonable prices and well worth it for something that has actual R&D on the actual car it's going on....

Revo has a OBD 2 tuning box that plugs into your OBD2 and uploads a file to your ECU. I'm not sure if that's what they are actually doing with this unit but it would be the only way it could possibly add HP. However Revo is a established company over in Europe so I'm also in the camp of not trusting this unit. It looks to be in the same universal packaging that 99% of Chinese OBD2 blue tooth adapters come in. EDIT just read a little more and it says you are leaving it plugged in for performance.... Yeah this has to be total junk.

cough up the extra cash and get a real tune form an established/reputable company like revo apr, unitronic, malone, 034, etc ..The consequences for a bad product can be blown engine or bricked ECU and company can dip and leave you holding the bag

I cannot confirm how this works on an Audi, but I can tell you that I purchased the highest stage version for my 2006 Dodge Viper and it did absolutely nothing.

I recorded my 60-130 and 100-150 times with a Dragy before plugging in the chip, immediately after, and 100 miles later.

Save up the money and get a real tune that logs into the ECU and actually rewrites the ECU.
